You have no idea what the cost of software development is. Especially when dealing with new hardware. It probably took longer to develop the software since they are dealing with a new interface.

This is all about PERCEPTION people. This device was purposely designed and targeted at Americans because, what are Americans obsessed most with... LOSING WEIGHT!!

I am not sure if this device will really make you lose weight, but its all about the perception. People BELIEVE this device will make you lose weight while playing video games, whether it actually does or not is another story.

People WILL pay 90$ for this, and it will be a huge seller. Why, because parents are currently freaking out because they have fat kids. They are looking for ANY easy solution to this problem they can find, especially when it involves little or no effort on their part. All they have to do is purchase this device, and their kids will magically be able to lose weight, while playing video games at the same time! What parent doesn't want that to happen nowadays here?

Yes, you could haul your kids to baseball, basketball or soccer practice, or you could take them for daily walks, or to the park (if you have one in your city) but that takes effort on the parents part. Purchasing Wii fit does not take much effort, and kids can still lose weight with it!

Wow, some self-motivation, or even a YMCA membership (at least for the first 9 months) is cheaper than this. The hardest thing for me is the fact I think are expensive enough at $50-60, let alone this.

You paid however much to lose a whopping *10* pounds in *7 WEEKS*?! You'd lose more jogging. Hell, you'd probably lose more just dieting in 7 weeks.

And please stop with the bullsh*t "a good scale costs you X". It's patently obvious that you haven't used a good scale in years. BMI tracking. What a load of horsesh*t. Do some research before claiming this is a comparable product.

I've got a scale right now that cost less than $50 that will run a low-level electric current and figures out your actual body fat percentage. It doesn't just divide the amount you weigh by how tall you are. People ditched BMI some 15 years ago. The most high tech scales now measure body fat %, and the amount of water your body contains. It doesn't just take figures that you had to enter in yourself and make simple mathematic calculations.

So, congratulations on your purchase and rationalization of outdated technology at prices marked up for obsolescence.

Nintendo is learning to blow it more and more every day.

Besides most people I speak with that "play Wii" actually mean "play Wii Sports"

I'm too tired to write a long ass post railing against Joystiq so I'll just make a few points...

1) If you don't like the price DO NOT BUY the game.

2) Curmeo shouldn't have banned. YES he's an annoying asshat, arrogant, sony fanboy...but we love him still despite his fatal flaws and significant errors in judgements when it comes to gaming.

3) If Joystiq wants to ban Curmeo they might as well ban like 60% of all the posters ont his board.

So more or less were getting a more sturdy and reliable controller for 80 bucks and a ten dollar wii sports replacement. Im curious as to wether or not this is gonna become a new wave like DDR was when it started hitting it big over here. Hell of met a few fat chicks who still play the game reegularly to lose weight, this game kinda just tells you up front thats what its all about. though I forsee quite a few angry parents taking theirs back cause their kids stomped the living shit out of it cause the guy skiing on tv wasnt quite turning left as hard as they wanted him too :D should be ammusing needless to say.

Even if any of you out there may think this is a stupid concept I do like the idea of inigrating this and to wii controllers and seeing what kinda crazy shit would stem from it. Ill buy it once Im finished with persona 3 and crisis core.

I would totally agree that it's overpriced. I'm not going for it until (if ever) the Balance Board gets multiple applications, then it'll be worth it

But if there was any doubt as to how much sales ass Wii is going to kick, it is all going to be removed with this game

90 vs 60 game,i guess tahts a 30 more and for someone who buys games a lot that might be crazy,but for someone who gets....nothing or litle
(like the "i got the game that camd with the wii,and the one with the wiimote" peeople) that might be reasonable.


It is just another way they can phisicaly interact with the game,a more dinamyc(or for them) fun experience.



While i rather a good control and a halo3,it would be dumb to understimate the power of these silly gadgets .the write and talk ds games,the waggle wiimote and these,the "casuals" LOVE em...go ahead nintendo,theres no one else on the way in these side of the market

Just like a bunch of people have shown dislike for WiiFit, here's my take on an upcoming release...

GTA4...I'm sorry, but this game has given me absolutely NO interest at all...I don't understand why people are raving over this game if its basically same old stuff that's been around since the first.

Is it a waste of money? Yes it is...to me. Is it my place to try and convince others to not buy it? No...that's their choice...I'd never say GTA4 is a waste of space either, because it obviously fulfills the role of a game to its audience: it keeps 'em entertained.

Now...to make this WiiFit related...$90, huh? Balance Board shows promise...probably not 1st day buy for me, but birthday is only two days after release so...;)

It won't always be $90.
