@fernando
Its just "beat", not beated. I understand english is your second language, and I just thought you may like to know. Lord knows I don't know how to conjugate verbs in spanish anymore. Also "has beaten" is acceptable.

I must admit that i haven't played Cooking Mama, but i've seen it, and it's upsetting someone took the time to put it together. Maybe my example wasn't great, but still COD4 is "kill kill kill" is as good an explanation as basketball is shoot ball in hoop. defend ball from going into hoop. repeat." As for my name....f*ck you. :)

Liquid I hope you get FOXDIE.
Sorry I had to do it,I'm playing MGS:E.

TF2>COD4 in terms of strategy.

I've never played cooking mama so I won't argue which one requires the most intelligence even when both are about pressing colored buttons at the right time
like a chimpanzee but I’m going with Cooking mama just for the fact it uses a touch screen.

I like how the Majescoite implies that the reviewer should pretend to like the game because it was made by "hard working people just trying to pay [their] bills." Idiot.

So it seems Mr. Navarro was critical of the Majesco employee's criticism of his critique. is anything even actually happening here? I just wrote a post about someone else writing about about what someone else wrote about a casual game. I don't think it would be possible to comment on something less intrinsically significant. Unless somebody responded to this comment that is.

Gamespot....it was my favorite game-site(no offense joystiq pls)
Sad how its going downhill so bad.

Anyway, these are the things i loved so much about it,those cruel crud reviews (among other things)

btw never played cooking mama game, and probably never will,20 bucks on a simple game aint woth when a great one is 60.

Yeah me too. Joystiq is great for information and news but Gamespot was great in the review department, hell sometimes the forums were truly epic and I got more lulz from GS forums (SW in especial) in 2 weeks than 4chan in 1 full year.

Then the reviews started to suck and I immediately confirmed that when they gave 9.0 to Assassins Creed. GS reviews were always .5 decimates to 1 full point below what they should (if you ask me) so I had the idea that if GS gave something 9.0 it was because it was super special awesome especially because they expose every bad aspect of the game so if a game had a crappy story the score went down. In the case of Assassin’s creed it got a full 9.0 with all the glitches and problems it had and the story was the cherry on the turd sundae so there was no way it deserved 9.0 Gamespy score was way more accurate.

Eggenbrecht (sp?) of Factor 5 should've done this for Lair, instead of the whole "reviewer's guide" fiasco

So, what's more passive aggressive, writing a snarky letter, posting a snarky letter on passiveaggressivenotes.com, or running a story about a snarky letter being posted on passiveaggressivenotes.com?

Don't forget a game having an audience is the only factor that matters in deciding if a game sucks or not.

Forget about good taste, it doesn't matter, its all about the dollars.

The problem with taste is, much like fetishes, it varies wildly from person to person, thus making "Good Taste" impossible to judge.

It IS odd that the email seems to suggest that the game is great simply because it's a sequel to a game that shifted a lot of units. That's like saying that Terminator 3 was great because Terminator 2 sold a lot of tickets/DVDs- we ALL know that this is, quite simply, not the case.

It's not so much sarcastic as it is needlessly antagonistic and accusatory, as if it was the reviewer's fault that they didn't enjoy the game.

For anyone who's NOT played Cooking Mama, it's a bit like this:

You know Ninja Gaiden DS? Where you chop demons, dragons and EVIL NINJAS to bits by swiping at them with your stylus? Well, replace the ninjas with sushi, the demons with seaweed and the dragons with, um, some egg-based product or something. Then, remove the awesome.

Hey presto! Cooking Mama!

I'll admit that Cooking Mama 2 was a surprisingly awesome game. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it exceeded my expectations in ways that surpassed even Super Mario Bros. Galaxy. That said, I hate Majesco for canceling BloodRayne 3 and believe that until they resurrect that hot redheaded babe, that they get all the bad reviews they can handle!

I think it looks silly for any company to go out of there way this way to refute a review. It doesn't matter if a company needs a good review to survive cause really it is their responsibility to make sure that happens not the reviewers. I would hate it more if the reviewers gave it a good review just to keep the maker of the game happy.

I have personally only played the Wii Cooking Mamma and I did not care for it but there are those that do and I think that is great. And its often times good to have reviewers that care about the specific type of game review but really that is sometimes a double edge sword, I think most people find review sites they can relate to, and though there staff needs to have varying taste you don't need to go out of the way to find someone to like a game. Its not like all sites give casual games a horrible scores there are many that are well received. On the same note look at user reviews by fans of a series and you will see blindness to issues, so sometimes a fan of a series or genre is not the best source to review a game cause their preconceived opinion was made before the game came out(this applies to all genre). Really I prefer a review site has a good system in place that grades a game on many different points to help curve opinion though all reviews at the end are just that opinion.

I love it. Just because you make a game, that doesn't mean it deserves to sell. If I was Navarro I would have posted this on the front page of the site. These game guys are letting their self-promotional marketing take over their brain.

Like said before, there is no casual gaming magazine.

The only reason he said it is boring is because people reading the magazine want a perspective from a adult male who have the same interests in games in them.
Thats why CoD4 got a high rating and Cooking Mama 2 got a low one.
