Harmonix this month just completely fails. Europe pricing. Not so bonus songs for the Wii version, which is already a joke. Yeah, no DLC I can understand, but no online play? Come on.
It seems to me they fit in perfectly at EA.

I can say that they aren't looking good this month, but saying that they fit in perfectly at EA isn't right. For one thing EA just published the game and doesn't really have anything to do with Harmonix other than that and EA isn't known for pricing things 150% higher in Europe.

Also, is Harmonix even making this version of the game? I thought the PS 2 and Wii versions were done by some one else.

I'm with you, man. But I do have to wonder...

Since online play with Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 worked pretty well, (EA Account, dedicated servers), did they even consider an option like that?

They fully hacked out the online play for the Australasian versions of MoH.......

I would have thought that they'd be including more of the DLC with female singers.

Bonus songs are just a thumb in the eye to Wii owners.

"Look what you can't have any more of!"

Go buy a 360 or a PS3 and experience Rock Band for real.

Well, seriously, what Wii owner actually expected Nintendo to put out a hard drive over this game? All Nintendo cares about is their bottom line, and they're too worried about the doors that would be opened by allowing hard drives to interface with the Wii.

This game is not meant to be on Wii. The option to get new DLC is a necessity to make this whole package worthwhile... plus, all-white drums? UGLY!

Why do wii owners feel entitled to get extra stuff?

Because they're used to getting the inferior versions of great games.

Who's expecting extra stuff? A severely gimped version of the game with a handful of crappy extra songs that you can get for five dollars on the other consoles anyway?

These are extra songs. That's pretty nice if you want Rock Band and don't want to go buy a whole new console just for that.

Yes, it sucks that it's not anything truly "exclusive"...but at the same time who would they be "old" too? PS3 and 360 RB owners who wouldn't buy the RB verison anyway?

Oh noes!

Anyone else feel like there is very little "bonus" about these additional tracks? Don't get me wrong, it's free content, but I guess I was just getting my hopes up thinking it would be something unique. I can easily say the Wii is my favorite system right now, but when it came down to waiting for this version, or picking it up for my 360, it wasn't hard for me to make the rather obvious choice.

Were people really expecting any different? Harmonix has already established that 'exclusive' content will not be exclusive, as it sounds like they don't want to screw people who can get DLC on song options. The OXM exclusives were timed exclusives, the European exclusives will be released in North America, and the Wii exclusives are already out for the 360/PS3. Exclusives really just piss people off.

I can confirm that these five songs are all very, very awesome, although I sort of wish they'd gone for two new bands (Blondie - Call Me, The Knack - My Sharona) instead of adding another Ramones and Police track.

Was anyone expecting anything different? This version of the game is an afterthought. It's not just the DLC that's a problem, but it's the fact that it's a port of the PS2 version. DLC isn't the only thing that's missing. Harmonix doesn't care.

Without GH3 guitar compatibility, I'm not getting Rock Band. Its disgusting that they don't allow it when it is so easy to do so. Harmonix=FAIL.

It's funny how my Rock Band has GH3 compatibility. You must own a superior system.

Activision blocked guitar compatibility by legal measures, not Harmonix. Go get pissed off at them; and while you're at it, kick their asses for ruining Guitar Hero, would you?

whymog- Activision has nothing to do with blocking the GH3 guitar. It uses the standard Wiimote/Classic Controller interface, and nothing is preventing Harmonix or even a computer from using the GH3 guitar. It is completely a decision of Harmonix to not allow the GH3 guitar- mostly because they are doing a straight PS2 port and are not taking the time to tailor the RB experience to the Wii.

It's all Harmonix's fault! THEY were the ones who decided that the Wii would not have a hard drive!!

I can't wait til Joystiq has its very own "Leave Britney Alone"-esque videoblogger who can cry over these massive corporations not getting their way.

Wondering if i can get some help here? I am about to purchase a system, and debating between the Wii and the 360.
One of my main reasons for my purchase is Rock band and GH3. On the Wii is Rock band and GH3 compatible? If not, it might be worth the extra $100 to purchase the 360..

Any feedback?

If you want inferior games, no DLC for either game and a joke for a console, then get a Wii. Otherwise, if you want a real console, go for the 360.
