Ever since EA announced the early release of Spore's Creature Creator, we've been wondering how the company planned on distributing the pre-game title. Fingers were crossed for a free demo, but now it seems that EA would rather entice players into buying their SimCity Box, which will reportedly include the Creature Creator amongst its lineup of classic SimCity titles.
On the game's Amazon product page, the box art indicates the presence of the "Creature Creator Trial Version" as a bonus feature. This same bonus is stated in the product description. If Amazon is to be trusted, we still don't know whether the "trial version" indicates a limited demo of the soon-to-be-released creature editor, or whether the editor is considered to be a "trial version" of Spore.
We also don't know if this is EA's only intended method of distribution for the Creature Creator. We've contacted EA for further clarification, and will let you know once we have a few more facts.

So it's like Orange Box, except with Sims Games? lol
Seems cool, except for that Sim City Society sucks, and Sim City 4 is really old and you can probably gave like $20 and just buy Sim City 4 and it's expansion pack alone. I don't know what the last game is, but I'm sure it's nothing too great.

Aww, that was mean. I didn't have the heart to do it myself.

It could be a one of those sandwiches with a lot of stuff.
Anyhow I would prefer if the content was Sim City, The urbz, The Sims 2 and one of the Sims expansions that didn't suck or Sims carnival.
In fact just give me the last best Sims City game and Sims Carnival and I would be happy.

Oh man, you should really give SimCity 4 a go again. It's a really great game. It takes awhile to get going, but it's well worth the wait. I could play that game forever, on and off. Try it again. And download some mods to beautify your city. That's what I done.
My city is spectacular: I have a gold statue of Lenin which sits adjacent to my port. There's a couple of Marina's - that's where the middle class go to imagine they're upper class. There's real social cohesion. There's no poverty. There's no inflation. And there's no recession.
It's a beautiful place.
So yeah, you should try out SimCity again.

Seems like a gimmick to resell the SimCity games you first fell in love with, then broke up with, later saw on many occasions and felt uncomfortable with, and when you saw it last year and you realized it just wasn't the same anymore...

That would suck, because nobody in their right mind would buy this shit.

If this is the case, hopefully somebody is able to rip it out of the package and provide a standalone version of the editor.
I'm still really excited for Spore and this will be a nice preview of the game.

Is Societies really that bad? I mean if it didn't have SimCity in the title would it still get all the hate?
The concept sounds really interesting to me. I'd love to build a 1984 society moreso then a working metropolis.
Just curious if all the anger was from Sim City purists or if it does really suck Ewe Bolls.

Spore Creature Editor must be made standalone. It must. I'll check the p1r4t3 s1t3s for it... even if I have a Mac. =S

I'd look forward to this game if my SimCity could be inhabited by my Spore creatures.
