Usually amazon gets release dates right. And obviously you probably be able to find it somewhere else for cheaper but the MSRP was raised.

Go Sony! Delay and price increase your products at the same time! People won't care.

Andrew, you know 'wherefore' means 'why,' not 'where,' right?

I kinda got tired of waiting for this, and since I already got the PSP headphones+remote on boxing day for 23$, I bought the PSP headset (the old one) for 14$ at Zellers. Sure, combined, it's pricier than the PSP Skype headset combo, even with the new 30$ price tag, but at this point, I didn't really care. Actually, I bet the price of the Skype headset will be insanely high in Canada, as usual. Just might have done a better deal than I thought!

Just making sure, but you know that "wherefore art thou" means "why are you", not "where are you", correct?

Yeah, I know. Seriously guys, some blogs need to invest in a copy-editor.

Wherefore art thou, writer and copy-writer twinned -- merged and immersed in paradigms of perfect usage? Do you happen to carry a red pencil on your person? By this I don't mean to imply the person next to you has a head shaped like a pencil, i'faith, although he marks me.

Seriously, we all knew what Andrew meant. Beyond insultingly primitive errors in usage, I don't fault deadline-pressured blog writers for occasional lapses. For one thing, English employs a ridiculous number of words -- every country that invaded England left behind its vocabulary. For another, English is such an imperfect language that it is wholly dependent on semantics, logic and tendencies of usage. It's an incredibly expressive and beautiful language, but it lacks the pristine scaffolding of French, Spanish and Italian. That's why it is so easy for any writer to have a few blind spots no matter how well-educated.

Sorry to offend. I wasn't insinuating that the writers are stupid, just that they should do a quick check up if they are unsure of something or they will appear stupid.

Yeah, I bought mine at Best Buy, but I've seen them at Gamestops all over Texas. Same price, around $20. How is this news?

You guys are thinking of the headset. That's completely different from the Skype headsit kit. Headset only costs $20 but to run Skype you also need the remote control that attaches to the headset. THAT runs you about $30. 20+30=50 therefore a big deal. So no, you don't have it already.

Wonderfull, but who really cares? Skype is a web based program, how often are people somewhere where there is wifi but no phone? I know I always have my cell phone and if I dont have it I am near a land line, Is this really something to get excited about??????

web based? no, skype is not a "web based" program, it has nothing to do with the web, it is a compiled application and uses its own protocol, I think what you mean is "internet required"

@NeoRaiden: As much as I hate to tell you that you're utterly wrong; you are. My headset does have a remote control, and it is Skype certified.
