Oh, that Kazunori Yamauchi. He loves to tease us. In an interview with Germany's derStandard (partially translated by develop), the man behind the Gran Turismo series says it would be "very, very improbable that GT will come out on another console." No surprise there, but then that little scamp of a developer entices us with a line about the series "perhaps [coming] to the PC. Particularly [for] the Chinese market."
Of course, a PC version would be the only sane choice for the Chinese market, where the PS3 is not officially released and the PC dominates the gaming scene -- and Yamauchi didn't even confirm that such a Chinese PC version exists. But we can just imagine how this quote will morph and mutate in the hands of fanboys, until, sometime soon, someone will ardently argue that Yamauchi actually confirmed an Wii version of GT5 would be out any day now. Mark our words ...

Austria! Ye Gods, it's Austria, not Germany!
There's a major difference: Austria does not ban games.

Will Sony start using an exclusive thing like Microsoft does on their cases where it says "Exclusive to PS3 and PC"?

I may be over reaching here, but am I the only one who thinks SONY is just talking out of their ass again with another one of their promises.
1. GT is one of Sony's biggest cash cow
2. Still waiting for GT4 PSP (Vapor ware today 70% completed tomorrow)
GT5 + PC + China = PIRATE HEAVEN :(

Yes. The graphics settings just need to be turned down. It'll probably look like an Xbox game on low-end computers, but if GT5 has good gameplay, then that shouldn't matter much.

GT5: Wii Edition, confirmed. Looks more like GT4, has waggle controls (but GameCube controller as an option, but it's been nerfed), and sketchy online mode!
You heard it here first, folks!

I'm in China, have a HK PS3, downloaded JP GT5P, so I'm fine with that. When Blu-ray is official in China, I think PS3 will have a chance here, a cheap Blu-ray player is always welcome.
However I think Driving Force would work better on PC because I can adjust it with software.
But a bigger screen is much better, so I prefer PS3 ver.
btw, Yamauchi looks handsome in this picture, the photographer really has some skills.

I'm not a fan of GT(or racing games besides Burnout 3) but I might as well buy/torrent it just to say I did.
Take dat Zony fanbois and yer "exglusives"!!!1

I suppose this would still make it a PS3 exclusive, right Ken?

Well, if it comes to the Chinese market as a PC version, how much is it going to cost to do a US localization? Especially because they don't have to hire translators or anything, since you know the PS3 version is US localized. Think cost-benefit here people, a PC version for China means a PC version for the US....

Sigh, Joystiq gets the article wrong days after everyone has already discussed it.
The question was if any of the Gran Turismo series would ever appear on another platform.
GT5 coming to PC anytime within the next 5 years? Extremely unlikely! A port of any GT game coming to PC for Chinese? Somewhat more likely, but still not going to happen, they've been talking about a PC version of GT since the first one.
