Namco announces We Cheer for (wait for it) ... Wii
Some of you thought one cheerleading game was enough for one year, but the hard-working pep-squaders at Namco thought otherwise. Introducing We Cheer, a Wii-exclusive cheerleading title with a catch: "30 smash-hit master recordings" including Hilary Duff and Natasha Bedingfield.
Not interested? How about multiplayer modes supporting up to four cheerleaders? Still not interested? How about a workout mode that tracks how many calories you've burned? Yeah, we didn't think that would help either ... we're most looking forward to the customizable outfits and shoes also. Oh-kay, let's go!

LMFAO ... I can here Fernando now ... Guys it has lots of bloom lighting and high res models ... I bet you it will sell more than MGS 4 will in the first week ... God how I loathe thee
el serpiente @ Apr 16th 2008 11:04PM
You think it's a coincidence he isn't showing his face around here? This is embarrasing...
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Apr 16th 2008 11:20PM
Dont they mean..."Wii Cheer"lol. Easy on the nando.
Anni @ Apr 16th 2008 11:25PM
How to tell you have even more time on your hands than Fernando does:
You insult him in articles he hasn't even commented in.
Man, you guys are SO much better than he is!
Shmil @ Apr 17th 2008 12:03AM
all of the fernando jokes are no better than the other trolls around here. At least Fernando wasn't a total dick like most of the major trolls, ex. Wii Sports Machine
Anticrawl @ Apr 17th 2008 12:03AM
I know right, we should all make fun of Fernando because we are SOOO much better than them *vomits*

Hey McPoop, I just got home from a wine tasting. My wife is still watching the TV so I do not know when I will be on.
As for this, I am not going to even bother, I think the game speaks for itself.
I continue to wonder why Nintendo has to have the system name in their games?
Super Mario
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart DS
Mario Kart Wii
Wii Sports
Wii Play
Star Fox 64
Wave Race 64
I just dont get it. Is Nintendo afraid of the customer forgetting the name of the system?
Couuld you imagine
Metal Gear Playstation
Gran Turismo Playstation 2
Crash Bandicoot Playstation
Metal Gear 4 Playstation 3
God of War Playstation 2
How about
Halo Xbox
Halo Xbox 360
Ninja Gaiden 360
Gears of War Xbox 360
Sounds stupid right?
SO WHY DOES NO ONE CARE THAT NINTENDO DOES THIS OVER AND OVER?
So pathetic
And Nintendo fanboys say Nintendo is original and innovators.
THEY CANNOT EVEN COME UP WITH A NAME THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE SYSTEM ITS ON IN IT.
Anni @ Apr 17th 2008 12:11AM
... THAT'S the best troll you could come up with for this thread, Killjebus?
1/10. I've seen shitty Rickrolls that were better trolls than this. But I know you can do better next time, man.
WiiSports Machine...Fernandos in disguise PSN: Killjebus @ Apr 17th 2008 12:17AM
Can YOU explain to me why they have to put the name of the system in nearly every fraking title?
NO, you cant.
I was actually trying to be nice, I did not even bother tearing up Nintendo for more of this BS they and you call "innovation" I am just REALLy curious as to why they have name their games so moronically.
Neowyrm @ Apr 17th 2008 12:19AM
The Legend of Zelda series. Enough said.
Anni @ Apr 17th 2008 12:23AM
Yes, I am positive it was your natural curiosity that lead to this query. You are journalistic at heart, and another motive is not present.
I'd hate to answer your question with another question, but can you tell me what Nintendo would benefit by having different names for the games you listed?
For instance, Wii Sports is a Sports game available on the Wii. What, pray tell, is Nintendo to gain from calling it "Tennis and Stuff" or "Tech Demo Fun Time"?
I mean, you're trying so hard right now to find fault with Nintendo over an issue that you know as well as I do is so moot it's almost as transparent as your supposed curiosity.
WiiSports Machine...Fernandos in disguise PSN: Killjebus @ Apr 17th 2008 12:27AM
With what Nintendo is doing lately...believe me...I dont have to try.
In my opinion, having the name of your console in your games is weak, silly, stupid, and POINTLESS.
Even soccermoms know that the bought a WSM.
Anni @ Apr 17th 2008 12:29AM
"With what Nintendo is doing lately...believe me...I dont have to try."
Yeah, nice cop out. Next time just try and be clever, okay? Like, at all.

Killjebus:
Quite a few PSP versions of games have "Portable" in the title... Just because they're on PlayStation Portable.
At least, it's more common over in Asia than it is here.
And... wine tasting? Seriously? Nothing personal, but that is the dumbest thing the white man ever came up with (and I am white!).
WiiSports Machine...Fernandos in disguise PSN: Killjebus @ Apr 17th 2008 9:50AM
My store does wine tasting dinners at local area establishments. Aside from that, I will not buy wine that I have not tasted. So, wine tastings are invaluable, as are spirits tastings, and cigar tastings.
I would have a hard time telling a customer about a wine/spirit/cigar if I did not know what they tasted like dont you think?
frogprince @ Apr 16th 2008 10:57PM
I must've seen the phrase "(wait for it)" at least ten times this week.
Phillip @ Apr 16th 2008 11:26PM
Frogprince, you had a typo. I've corrected it for you:
"I must've seen the phrase "(wait for it)" at least (wait for it) ten times this week.

Hmmmmmm Guitar Hero for girls...
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Apr 16th 2008 11:06PM
I hate to admit it, but this would look fun if... AND ONLY IF...
You took away the bad music (negotiable, you'll see why)
added an elite squad of karate wielding agents
and gave us a wide variety of wacky people with wackier problems to solve...
That's right, Elite Beat Agents on Wii. This... actually, reminds me of it.
Raikage (LDF CRAB BATTLE!!!) @ Apr 16th 2008 11:12PM
I'd totally buy that, It would be a mix of this and Samba De Amigo.
BPM [SSBB: 5026 4120 1186] @ Apr 16th 2008 11:33PM
By jove, I think you're on to something!
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Apr 16th 2008 11:38PM
I'm not kidding here. If you can stomach past the "idolmasters latest project" mess that is it's graphical shell, this looks very Elite Beat Agentish...
... will this become the next Samba De Amigo for my collection? The game everyone finds and has to question why the hell I own it? Eh, guess I'll have to wait for a final songlist to decide....
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Apr 17th 2008 12:01AM
It's time to do what DDR failed to really push: combine this game with the WiiFit board, and make people "dance" by shifting weight and by doing arm movements.

Ouendan, that's what this game needs to be

Well, um. Man. This is bad isn't it? Well, every game has its audience I suppose.
However as I sit here, wrapping up a few sidequests on The Darkness (I really love this game, atmosphere is fantastic) I can't help but wonder that if one of these cheerleaders had darkness powers in the game it might somehow make the game more palateable to the hardcore market.
Floozie gets in your way, you demon arm her, eat her heart, and get to the top of the pyramid? Eh, eh? Any takers?

No, see, Namco. Namco's making this game. I realize the fact that they both start with N might be confusing, but sheesh, don't jump the gun, fella!
tmacairjordan87 @ Apr 16th 2008 11:31PM
They allow everything to be put on their system, whereas sony and MS have approval boards that cut through a LOT of POS games like this. I know they still get some but everyone can agree there's far less shovelware on their systems.
I don't fault the companies as much because they're just capitalizing on nintendo's blatant disregard for quality.
Anni @ Apr 16th 2008 11:44PM
"whereas sony and MS have approval boards that cut through a LOT of POS games like this."
Oh, you DO dream big, don't you?
Regardless, your accusation that Nintendo is at fault for allowing these... these PUBLISHER people to put games on their system has just opened my eyes to a brave new world where Nintendo consoles have LESS game offerings than their competition. Truly, this world is a superior one.
OR, and stop me if you've heard this one, they could allow a wide variety of games that appeal to a mass audience and not just the echo-chamber that is video game related news site comment sections.
In conclusion, Nintendo's pretty gay.
Anticrawl @ Apr 17th 2008 12:09AM
Man, people will always find a way to bitch about something.
First it's "WAAAAAAA!!! Nintendo has a seal of quality and my game doesn't cut their standards... waaaaa I'm out 10 million, waaa I hate Nintendo I'll make my shitty game for another console." so then Nintendo listens to it's fans and the bitchy 3rd party developers and does away with the Nintendo Seal of Quality system in every fashion other than it's name and we here, "WAAAAAA!!! What are these shitty games doing on my system??? WAAAAAAA!!!"
FUCK!
samfish @ Apr 17th 2008 3:19AM
"whereas sony and MS have approval boards that cut through a LOT of POS games like this. I know they still get some but everyone can agree there's far less shovelware on their systems."
AH HAHA! That's funny if you really think that. The only reason there isn't more shovelware on those systems is because it still costs too much to make it worth it, as well as perceived target audiences.
After the PS2 and it's endless amounts of crap games and Microsoft's attempts at courting "casual" gamers, do you REALLY believe that either one of them would turn down a cheerleading game?
Here's another thing...maybe (and I know this is difficult to understand), just MAYBE this game is intended for a different audience.
WOW! What a fuckin' concept!
Honestly, I'd LOVE to see these so-called "hardcore" gamers make a game that they think would appeal to "casual" gamers. I mean, you guys clearly know what's good for them and what they want, after all.
WiiSports Machine...Fernandos in disguise PSN: Killjebus @ Apr 17th 2008 9:55AM
BS Waafish,
How do you explain casual titles on the PSN like HSBowling, or Pain, or Buzz, or Singstar?
I doubt that any of those games cost very much to make...maybe Singstar for song rights.
Thank you WAAAAfish...try again.
As for the shovelware on the PS1,PS2...typically shovelware makes its appearance on the Playstation AFTER 3 years on the market, by that time the Playstation is at the mass market price, and the hardcore/midcore gamers HAVE one already so Sony pursues the casual.
Nintendo just BYPASSED the hardcore/midcore market almost completely and went straight for the casual market.
Thank you....try again.
Mr Khan @ Apr 17th 2008 5:15PM
And yet you don't realize how much Sony and Microsoft would give to "sell gamers out" just like Nintendo has

I'm looking forward to the fact that it plays like Elite Beat Agents. All of the impressions make note of this, since it is the only aspect of the game that might make people like me buy this game.
