Though it often seems that the internet has the attention span of a Pixie-Stix-maddened toddler at a Pokemon zoo, it makes up for it with a long memory. Take, for instance, yesterday's denial from Nintendo of a new DS model rumored to be on the horizon last week. Oh, Nintendo? Oh really?Internet, we direct your attention to January 25, 2006 when a Big N spokesperson denied having any knowledge of a new DS one day before announcing the DS Lite. So, Nintendo, we hope you'll forgive us if we're more inclined to just wait for E3 than to believe the lie factory you call a mouth.
...That was a little harsh, wasn't it? Sorry, we just really want to buy the DS again.

and that is why you will never own or manage a successful business
Nintendo Japan made this denial, and their word is to be taken as doctrine, 9 times out of ten

Not because of the Nintendo bashing, it's just a funny thing to say. I'm going to go play some games on my DS Phat now.

Its worse for lugging around, but i don't do that much with my handhelds, strangely enough, and i feel its better for actually playing, feels more comfortable

Yeah, I'll eventually buy the new one. I bought the special edition Mario Kart DS Phat, the original DS Phat and a DS Lite. So yeah, I'll probably bite on a new one. I'm a fanboy, I'll admit it. But minus all the 1337 speak, gay bashing, bad spelling and other console hating.
So I guess I'm not a fanboy?
I passed my DS phat onto my sister, then my buddy, and it's now with my girlfriend. I'm guessing I'd do the same with my lite if they release another one.
As far as my sexual orientation goes, I'm straight. You?

I really love the Lite's Touch Screen capability and 'quick' power up/wake from sleep capability, on the other hand, I really like the processing power and games that are coming out on the PSP (with its beautiful screen)

Now if they would just decline to comment about all rumours, that would be their prerogative (and to be fair, a lot of them do just that), but we've come to the point where we can't trust anything they say because we know it doesn't mean anything.

So no, it doesn't surprise me that companies continually lie to consumers--if they think it'll earn them more $$, that's what they're going to do. A better question is, "Why is it suddenly striking you that billion dollar corporations lie a lot?"
