Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway in August, multiplayer redesigned
Ever since BIA went MIA last fall, we've been waiting for an update on the construction of Hell's Highway. Turns out the interstate paved with the hardened souls of the damned will open this summer, as a new trailer (embedded after the break!) announces Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is "Coming August 2008." And yes, Nazi neck-stabbin' confirmed, finally.
In addition to today's video announcement, Gearbox has apparently been working on a "totally redesigned online component" for the game, reports Eurogamer. Hell's Highway will supposedly feature "dozens" of players on each team and somehow incorporate the squad-based gameplay that defines the single-player campaign (that is, if you're willing to take orders from foulmouthed tweens).

I'm starting to lose hope for this game. The first two were good, but if they're redeisgning the whole multiplayer this late in development, it couldn;t have been too great to begin with. Also, the graphics look a bit too colorful and pastelle like, for a world War 2 game. It should look grittier. Maybe they'll prove me wrobng, but I somehow doubt it.

BiA always looked brighter and more colorful than most of its WWII game brethren. It creates a striking dichotomy between the beauty of the European landscape and the horror of the war.

I like the graphic style, CoD 2 and 4 looked real fake and plasticly, especially the faces and grass

Possible Corection: the European release is for August. That report was from Euro gamer and if you check online you can see that it has been scheduled for August for a while.

I had an Xbox and the original BIA was actually the last FPS game I've brought for the system. In fact, it's the last FPS game I've played. I just can't touch another. I wince at the thought.
I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's just with the amount of FPS games I had on the Xbox, I just got really burnt out with the genre.

This the WW2 game to end all WW2 games, after playing this I swear not to touch another one of those ever again (unless it's a air combat WW2 game, in that case I'll think about it)

i think they took so long for it to come out cause they probably saw the call of duty 4 trailers last year and said "f*** that... lets work on this game alittle more."
like a year and a half ago i saw all these BIA trailers and wasnt too thrilled.
btw, joystiq, you banned me almost a year ago under the name fffunfarm for talking back to one of your editors. im sorry and i think you guys are great.
