Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack hits PS3 April 24

Call of Duty 4's Variety Map Pack has emerged triumphantly from the PlayStation 3 certification process and will become available for download next week on the North American PlayStation Network. Infinity Ward's Community Manager, "Fourzerotwo," has updated his blog with the news, confirming the $10 DLC's arrival on April 24th. Unfortunately, European gamers will have to wait an extra week (until May 1st) before gaining access to the four new multiplayer maps.

We recommend you frolic through the maps on the Double XP weekend for North America, which will run from 12:01 AM PDT on Friday, April 25 to 11:59 PM PDT on Sunday, April 27. Infinity Ward developers will also hop in front of your crosshairs on Friday, April 25 from 5 PM to 8 PM PDT. Finally, Europe will receive a Double XP weekend, running from 12:01 AM GMT on Friday, May 2 to 11:59 PM GMT on Sunday, May 4, with developers joining on Friday, May 2 from 7 PM GMT to 10 PM GMT. Did you get all that?

It is pretty pathetic that I have to throw in a disclaimer because of all of the PC whineboys on this blog.

Much like the only reason I picked up COD, I'll probably only download this to shut my friends up.

Yep. It's not that I think it's a bad game (for a console FPS, it's pretty damn good), but every time I play it I just look over at my copy of Warhawk and think how much more fun I'd be having dropping a cluster bomb on a jeep with a flag runner in it or blasting a Nemesis out of the sky with a missile turret or throwing a landmine on a passing enemy tank, etc.

I feel the same way, only I look over at Halo. The main thing I'm enjoying about CoD4 is the leveling-up-my-dude part, but I'm not enjoying the actual combat/gameplay part.

Too little too late. 5 days before GTA IV= no buy for me. Hope the money MS paid them to delay it on PS3 will make up for all the money they will miss out on downloads. Oh and nobody cares what you think Fernando, you turd.

Those old maps? Pfft! I keed, they are awesome and very beautiful at that. Worth every bit of $10.00 indeed. Creek is huge, broadcast is very well laid out and Chinatown is crazy. Killhouse is playable on Free-for-all and it gets insane!

Chinatown sucks balls.

Im not gonna lie I hated it at first too. But now I have that map down and know all the ins and outs so Im really diggin it now. I love how the streets have that wet (just finished raining) look to them. It looks great.

Chinatown is a remake of another map from COD. forget the name. They basic layout is exactly the same but they changed it to look like Chinatown.

I beleive its Carenton from part 2 but I never really got into COD2's online so I never got familiar with that map.

You'd think with all the game the 360 has, you'd be too busy playing them instead of bashing the PS3 for some odd reason. You have a 360, your happy with it, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be an immature prick and go out and bash another console, I'd just enjoy mine.

I believe there is a minimum IQ required to change your avatar. Judging by your other posts you probably don't meet this requirement.

no, they are released on Xbox first because the maps will have been developed and designed on a computer (Most likely Windows) and therefore it will be easier to recode the maps to run smoothly on the 360 because it is more like a PC than the PS3. (Doesn't it run on a simplified version of Windows anyway?) As the PS3 gets more used, more things will come out at the same time because developers will be getting used to coding for the alien PS3 system.
So quit the 'MS are playing dirty' thing and just shut up or put up. Simple.

Just one question for you buddy. Have you ever been irritated at PS3 fans quoting poor 360 build quality? That's a fact too, but many seem to get a little ruffled at unprovoked statements of that fact.

Enjoy your CoD4 levels, and if you're going to state facts with a little trollish flair, have the balls to not feign surprise at the reactions. Even Fernando doesn't sink that low anymore (much).

Both consoles have their merits, but flamming fanboys who bash other consoles in threads that don't concern them have none.

I dunno, I'm seeing 360 fanboys starting the attack first with PS3 guys retorting as I did earlier here. I think it used to be PS3 fanboys but now they have become quiet, 360 fanboys though are getting more annoying and arrogant.

Fanboys in general are annoying and arrogant. Don't pin it on any particular system. Fuck each and every one of those people.
