Konami has become the latest company to throw its weight behind the impending North American WiiWare launch, announcing that it has "several" WiiWare titles in development for the region, the first of which is a four-player puzzle game called Critter Round-Up.
Known by the equally cute title Saku Saku Animal Panic in Japan, Critter Round-Up will have players building fences to keep animal species separated while avoiding "predators and other mischievous animals." The game is being created by fledgling developer Epicenter Studios, a company whose only other credit is the as yet unreleased Real Heroes: Firefighter for the Wii. And if corralling animals doesn't get you going (what's wrong with you?), Konami notes that future WiiWare projects include an arcade-style music game called Crescendo (working title) and a sandcastle building sim tentatively known as Fresco Beach. Excited yet?

Will Konami require that ridiculous Konami ID KayRap for each animal? Apparently Konami thinks 2 or 3 are better than 1.

Konami ruining the good line up of WiiWare titles... altough, Crescendo sounds cool.
Music + classic arcade action sound nice.

Morning Fernandos!
I do think that Wiiware is a good idea. Undoubtedly there will be some quirky games maybe even with a fair amount of quality. But alas I fear that the WSM's LACK of a HDD, or being able to instantly retrieve data WITHOUT having to uninstall and reinstall the games, due to the HORRIBLY gimped and inadequate 512MB of Wiimory will all be for naught in the long haul.
What are your thoughts on this Fernandos?
And what thoughts do other Wiiers have?
For me that would drive me KayRazy having to constantly juggle that Wiiamount of memory back and forth just to play Wiiware.

While my wording my be a bit sarcastic, I assure you that my question is one that I would like answered. If I wanted to flame Fenix, you should know by now that I am capable of much more than what I just said.

Of course, a memory solution is coming. Our company just loves messing with people until the last possible moment. It doesn't hurt that our super secrecy is an excellent way to keep the competition out of the loop.

Shiggypoo, buddy...
What happened? I was in Osaka at the Shiro Ishi's House of Sushi and you were no where to be seen. Did spend another all-nighter at the Geisha lounge again?
You know your wife cries herself to sleep or calls MY wife (and I end up having to hear about it...sometimes for hours) and complains that you spend way to much time at those places...not to mention millions of yen.
C'mon Shiiggypop, I am your friend, I only want to help. You better not keep going to those Geisha houses so often otherwise I will have to come over to your house and put my fist in your springroll.
So, how about a fishing contest then? My cousin owns a fishing village on the island of Kyushu and I would love to put you in your place on a fishing boat.
What do you say?

I have no idea what you are talking about, Ken, and I am appalled that you would bring up such personal information, regardless of its factuality, in a public space. I'm sorry, but I don't have to take this guff! I'm going out now. Call me again when you aren't on my back!

I actually like the sandcastle building sim idea.
I used to build sandcastles with my grandfather back in Nigeria. I didn't know much about them, in fact I was rather apprehensive, but he adored sitting on the beach and constructing these wonderfully complex forts. And at completion, he was always had this really goofy smirk. I'm smiling just thinking about it.
But maybe my enthusiasm for this game has a slight bias.

As interesting as some of these WiiWare titles might seem, it's getting kind of tiring seeing them constantly being put up on Joystiq.
How about saving one post for 4-5 WiiWare titles instead of one WiiWare game per post?

you know what, Im done bitching about Wiiware titles, I see what they are doing, and I know that these games are not targeted to me, so I will just ignore them.
I have yet to see a Wiiware title that interests me. the closest one is Final Fantasy:Simcity

Perhaps you could describe the types of games you prefer on competing distribution services and I could find analogues on WiiWare that may tickle your fancy. I am to please!

Shiggster, ur engrish still needs work my friend. I believe what you are trying to say is AIM and no, I am not talking about the American Indian Movement, I am talking about AIM as in ready AIM fire.
Shiggy,
perhaps you need to go back to school. Jethro Bodine 6th grade education is nothing to laugh at...you should graduate the 6th grade on engrish like he did, otherwise when those revenuers come for ya, you'll be stumped and you won't know what to do.

Give me a break! I only just recently improved my English!
As for Pojo, you seem to be one to who is very selective about his download decisions. Then again, as you are one who doesn't yet own a Wii, you probably don't research too much into its upcoming software and therefore may miss a title that could satisfy your cravings.

People keep complaining about Flash games on WiiWare but wasn't flOw the first game announed for PSN? These services tend to start small and build their way up.
Also, Critter Round-Up actually seems kinda fun, especially the Tron-like 2 player game. Check out WiiFolder.com for a preview video.
