Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe gets confirmation, trailer
The high impact, mid-air fight between Sub-Zero and Batman (shown below the break) seems a little out of character for the Dark Knight, who's always been more about calculation and strategy than all out hand-to-hand Kombat. We're also a little worried about how the DC heroes' long-standing prohibition against killing is going to match up with the Mortal Kombat series' famously fatal, er, fatalities. But these kinds of academic nerd-concerns are hard to maintain when watching the concentrated 360- and PS3-fueled awesomeness on display in this video.
[Update: Gamespot has an interview with Project Lead Ed Boon that discusses the game's story and the balancing between the variously super-powered characters. The interview also confirm Superman's and Scorpion's somewhat obvious inclusion in the game. Gamespot's preview has more details]

If its good it could revive the flame in every MK fan and probably compensate for MK:A (Create a fatality was a good idea but I rather have different fatalities that one standard move)if it fails we will never forgive Midway for this monster.

So since the trailer disproved the whole blood thing, let's hope we get some awesome fatalities.
To its credit though, it was a good trailer

because it's a crossover?
Last time I checked, Marvel Vs. Capcom wasn't in 3d, didn't have blood, and didn't have anyone close to the awesomeness that is the goddamn batman. So no it isn't a rip off.
A. DC and Marvel are both comic book companies
B. DC and Marvel both have incredibly famous superheroes
C. DC and Marvel are enemies, therefore this was bound to come at sometime
And besides, this game probably won't have blood either. In the article on GameSpot, it says that they are aiming for a Teen rating.
And besides, Spider-Man would kick sissy Batman's ass.
For it to be a rip-off the game would have to be:
1. in 2d
2.have 2 vs. 2 fighting(though actually that may happen)
3. Be fast as fucking crazy
4. Be able to do these super crazy that fill up have the screen
From the looks of it, while yes both games have similar concepts(crossovers) DvM looks to play very differently then MvC. So once again, no it's not a rip off.
AND DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE GOD-DAMN TRAILER? WHAT DO YOU THINK THAT WAS, WATER?
3vs3 fighting.
Marvel and DC are not enemies, I have a pile of Marvel/DC cross over comics that prove that..
1. Spiderman's a huge pussy- when he's not crying about something, his ruining his life- the guy's a walking advertisement for summer's eve, Batman would literally tear his tiny ass in half.
2. Capcom didn't invent the crossover, nor do they have a patent on it. Besides, DOES IT LOOK ANYTHING LIKE Marvel vs Capcom?
Actually he's somewhat right. If Parker was fighting with his true potential, he can literally crush Batman. But the thing is, Spiderman holds back alot during fights. So Bats does have a shot at taking him down.
The thing is, XVSSF(And Thus MVC) Only existed because Capcom had previously done two Marvel fighters. Now, they only needed to make the sprites for roughtly five fighters, then make it faster and comboier. In that sense, The Capcom crossover is cheaper. It's still hella fun, though...

All right, who am I kidding? The game will obviously follow the Marvel vs. Capcom rule of equalizing characters that somehow lets Ryu survive a fight with the Hulk.

MK one was a straight forward story, MK 2 added babalities and friendships and the first glimpse of the ridiculousness that is the MK canon, but at least it was fun to play. It was all downhill from there, as far as a story that can be taken seriously.
But I'm _pretty_ sure nobody plays the game for the story, I just miss how intense and visceral MK 1 felt since there was nothing like it at the time. Actually felt more like fighting for your life and less like playing a comic book character.

I can't really understand the idea of MK against DC, or even want to try to understand it, but I'll play the game anyway cause I like both MK and DC.
Initially, I thought it would be a good idea, and then you see it .... and well...
