The trailer suffers from a heavy case of you-can't-see-jack. Hope the game isn't going to be like that.

Nothing ruins a scary atmosphere more than actually seeing the monster. Being dark is preferable as it allows our imaginations to fill in the blanks. The best scary movies and books are those where the antagonist is never seen (or described in the case of books). I'd say this is a very good thing.

True, but contrast doesn't hurt.

Not seeing the monster is scary, but it means nothing if you weren't able to see anything to begin with: in other words, you don't know how dark dark is if you hadn't seen the light.

I hope it gets a better subtitle than New Translation though, that seems pretty weak.

Oh good a Blair Witch game, finally. I love games where I have to spend a half hour adjusting the black level on my TV in order to play. I'm also tired of having a high def TV when game developers all decide in unison to make everything look like scratched up movie film or filling the scene with static. I guess they call that "setting the mood".

Though it was hard to see a lot in the trailer, I am very excited for this game. The horror genre has been lacking lately, and this looks to be pretty creepy.

Give us a new fatal frame too!

Yeah, I find it disturbing that they aren't making a high gloss verion. I will get it for the wii of course, but would much rather have it on the 360 or PS3.

(Is this where people tell me the wii looks so great that I'm nuts? Because if you have played this series before, you would know that the better the graphics power the freakier it would be.)

Why is Fernando being voted down for what appears to be the truth on Fatal Frame? It does appear to be going to the wii next.

never heard of this game before this week, looks like it might be pretty good.

Grasshopper needs to get off the Wii bandwagon and bring Fatal Frame IV to 360, PS3... dont they know the Wii is just a fad...

After reading that I wasnt sure if Justin liked it or not. Made postive comments sound negative. wierd.

I'm not big on horror games, I will say that they are very well contrusted on the most part. Fatal frame was really good. There was that one Gamecube game (always forget the name) it was a serious mind bender. . .

I think the fatal frame series is perfectly suited for the wii, given the unique 'gimmick' of the series is pointing a camera at the ghosts and all.

According to the trailer, the story follows an American TV crew gathering material in Hanyuuda Village. The village no longer exists, yet the "ceremony" is beginning again.

New Translation... unless every single member of the TV crew is well versed in Japanese occult rituals, it'll be interesting to see how they try to wrap their heads around what's happening. Unless they just run screaming into the night. And then return as zombies. Well, corpse people.

This video looks like shit that ate shit for breakfast and then shit.

It's too Konami, Capcom Horroresque. In my opinion Slow Horror is dead (no pun intended). Everything is faster now and honestly I think its a good thing. I mean look at COD4 the run click in stick has changed the way all genres of gaming should be played. Heck even the good ol' guys at Sony recognized this and changed SOCOM for the better.
Left 4 Dead will be the ultimate test when the zombies actually run instead of just bumping into each other. It worked in the movies. Dont you think that its much more exciting when you're being chaced down a dark alley by something that could potentially rip your head off? I mean take a look at Resident Evil 2, wasnt it better the second time through knowing that Mr.X was always around any corner?

Stop wasting my time getting me to pick up keys, stupid ruby's, and flashing objects off the ground and then asking me if I really want to keep the Item I just picked up. Give me a fucking gun that can blast through the door the stupid key would have opened. Keep it action packed, Keep it scary as fuck but always keep it moving

Well that was lost in translation (pun intended). I have no idea what's going on. Feels like the same ol' survival horror game that's set to mind-frak rather than entertain.

I honestly can't wait to see how much a game can be absolutely horrifying. So far I feel pretty much all games in the horror genre aren't THAT scary. I want them to make this game utilize the PS3's graphics so that you'll HAVE to play it with a friend reminding you that it's all right- ITS JUST A GAME. O_o

Honesty I don't see what the problem is. The video isn't to dark: I see what it seems like I'm supposed to see. There wasn't a point when I thought "man to bad I can't see whats going on". So those of you afraid of the dark...stop complaining. And those that complain about the static and the old film look: don't buy the game. That makes the game scarier and if you can't appreciate that, go play a stereotypical average horror game instead of this incredibly horrifying looking game.

This game looks amazing. I can't wait.

Hey, ya stupid fuck. Get this: COD4 and Socom are war games. This is a horror. What you wan't is an action game, not a horror game. You want mutants, not zombies. But hey, Left 4 Dead looks wonderful. I can't decide between this and that. 28 Weeks Later is awesome. I love running zombies. And get this dipshit: these guys do run and you would know that if you actually played the original fucking game.

Your not scared if you always have a gun. If you call yourself a horror fan, quickly kill yourself before you disgrace us any further. Survival horror. Survival. Thats where the horror comes from, buddy. Natural people thrown in super natural situations trying to survive. Not being able to defend yourself well, knowing that if you fuck up, your dead. Thats where the fear comes from. Survival Horror. Not Action Horror. Don't get me wrong, I love action horror, but don't even begin to dis Survival Horror because that is what your doing. Resident Evil 4 was hardly scary. Mainly because you always had a gun. So you know you can kill whatever comes your way.

And your sitting there talking about how great RE2 is. They have shining objects on the ground. They ask you if you want to keep the item. Almost every survival horror game does. Yes, fast is good, but for the sake of horror, I would trade fast zombies and guns for slow zombies and survival any day. Now if they were to do fast zombies, hardly any weapons, actually trying to survive instead of going out to kill the zombies.

In survival horror games you dont go kill zombies for fun like your implying. You are trying to surive. You run. You kill only when necessary. Maybe you should stick to fps.
