UT3 gets fragtastic on Xbox 360 this 'summer'

We still don't have an exact release date for Unreal Tournament 3 for Xbox 360, but we're getting closer. The news out of Midway's Gamers Day is that we can expect the title to appear this "summer." We found out yesterday that the Xbox 360 version will feature five "exclusive" maps, split screen capabilities and two new characters. Today we can add that there will also be an all-new Warfare mode, though we're still trying to find out what that exactly means. Check out the gallery below for some new images.

Something has always bugged me about that guy in red armor. He looks EXACTLY like Marcus Fenix with a different colored armor and goggles on his head. Its like a nextgen pallete swap.

I don't see how it being the other way around makes what I said garbage, even though my post neither took a side on the matter to begin with. Its still extreme laziness on Epic's part, and still essentially the next-gen equivalent of a pallete swap. Now, if you'll note I never said UT ripped off Gears, and instead merely mentioned that the two characters were similar. It just so happens I know Marcus' name and not his UT counterpart's (if he even has one, UT isn't exactly known for its characters.)

I guess reading comprehension was never your strong point.

If by this point, you are still excited or care about UT3 360, you need a good long look in the mirror. Especially considering for your online fragging, unlike the PS3, the pickings aren't exactly slim.

I haven't played many mods on the PC version- mostly just the regular game. I would have no problem with that, because even without mods, this game kicks ass.

I really hope they add splitscreen to the PS3 version (Epic have said they might). The moment they do, I'll buy it, but not a second before.

It's a great game (I rented it) but I don't like online play, I like splitscreen.

If the 360 version get mods and the PS3 one doesn't get splitscreen, I may well get it for 360. (The only thing that may stop me is that I'll be playing it on either my brother's 360 or my flatmate's one, and I don't wanna fill their harddrives up with my mods.)

I hope it sells like shit on the 360 like it did on the PC and PS3. Frankly, Mark Rein needs a bit of humble pie after all the smack he talked in the last couple of months.

Frankly if I was only buying 1 game all summer, my $$ would probably be going to Ninja Gaiden 2.

At this point I'd love it if Epic just revived some of their old franchise. Hell, I'd love that under any circumstance.

New or Revived IP, Epic needs to branch out soon. Its embarrassing to go to their website and see this long list of "Unreal" titles followed by Gears.

Such stupid things to argue over...CoD4 is released earlier on the 360, 360fanbois say its easier to develop for etc., PS3 fanbois say its to add more stuff. Its two fold ... 1 reason is Epic wanted everyone to see that the UE works fine on the PS3 and the other reason is because the 360 doesn't have Mod support and Epic has been trying to persuade Microsoft to do so ... Kojima never said the PS3 was a bad machine, you should learn how to read. He simply said it couldn't complete his vision of the game. My bet is that "5 exclusive maps and exclusive characters!!!" is because they can't do user mods. They said they were working on it, by bet is that it failed and this is the middle ground.

Proof? Why would extra levels and characters be a bullet point if it had mods where you could make your own?

I own a 360 and am wating for tons of great games and a price drop of the ps3 before i get it. for me the 360 version would be the one to get if it had mods but i dont think it will. but i dont own a ps3 yet so i gues im stuck with the 360 version. ill just lust after the ps3 and pc mods.
