No mods - no purchase for me. Mods and user created content is the ONLY thing that puts this FPS over the billions of others to choose from on 360.

It sure is fun on PC though...

you are right on that, user created mods is what make this game great, characters is not something important for me, only the dozens of maps that I have installed is what I like.

For the people that says that COD4 is better, do not compare apple to oranges, they are two different kind of games. I like COD4 too but being able to play a different map each day is better than the need to wait for 5 months for DLC in my opinion, I get bored of playing one map for more than a week and do not think that playing like a bot, throwing grenades at the same place at the same time over and over and over is entertaining like the people that have memorized each COD4 map (I only play with friends that play with some tactics and not like bots)

I have the PS3 version, the only thing that really will shine on the XBox360 version is the splitscreen option, that a lot of people want on the PS3 (I do not play with friends locally, too busy in my daily work to have time to arrange a session with them). Will we see the splitscreen on an update for the PS3?, maybe not now that it is being showed as something extra for the XBox360 as a bonus because it will not have user created mod capabilities. It is bad that the XBox360 owners can not have that :-(

Is anybody still looking forward to this game? It looked interesting back when user-created content was a distant possibility. Now though...I think I'll just stick to CoD4 and let this one quietly pass by...

At the end of the video it said summer 08. I predict a June release. Any later than that people would probally wait for Gears 2.

In UC2 Malcom asked Anubis to join a new ThunderCrash team.

Maybe one of the new guys is Anubis.

I have the PS3 game and it really isn't very good. It just feels so dated now. COD4 is better online. If your a hardcore Unreal fan you may like but its far from being the best online FPS. The single player is just a tutorial and is really boring. Without mods i wouldn't touch this game. Thats just how i feel but the PS3 reviews weren't all good i imagine it will be the same on 360.

Theres your problem; you're playing it on the PS3! The PS3 version has been said to be shitty since release.

I have the PC version, and its absolutely amazing.

This summer, thats good, but what i am trying to figure out is the single player mode, whats that about, what can you do, i dont play much multiplayer but remember UT when it came out, you could do a somewhat single player campaign or is this like Q3 when it came out.

Single player (at least on the PC version) is basically just a series of bot matches - It showcases all the maps, vehicles and game modes. The matches are loosely strung together with half-assed narration made to appear as though a story is playing out.

Extra Content for the 360 huh? Will it all be on one disc or will there be additional discs? Maybe a download?

If it all comes on one disc this will be a thorn in Sony's necessity for Blu-Ray discs, I just thought this might be a topic that someone might want to discuss further.

From what I've heard, because Blu-Ray is shit slow, developers fill up the disc with same data over again so the laser doesn't have to travel as much.

That's pretty much why Multi-Platform games take up 2x to 3x more space on Blu-Ray.

People keep moaning about mod support - the PC mod scene for this game is DEAD - I don't think it ever started either. Waste of time.

well I have more that extra 40 maps installed, but it is common that more advanced mods get created after the Something Unreal Contest starts, and It was already announced

I don't know what planet you are on. New user content has been released weekly. The UT2D mod that was released this week looks awesome.

As for those saying the game isn't that good. It's not game of the year material but it feels like UT. I don't get why people expect a sequel to be a completely new game. It's a sequel, it's going to be based on the same gameplay.

Yeah, it isn't much for new gameplay, but Halo 3 doesn't offer much new either. To me it feels like UT2k4 but with Gears of War graphics. It is a solid game. It's just a normal run and gun FPS like Halo. Nothing special about it but it does the job well.

The only problem I have with it is the PS3 version is limiting. There are certain mods it can not have. The keyboard and mouse support is awesome but the configuration sucks. First, flying down is hardcoded to C, there's no option to change that. It's a bug they need to fix. Mouse sensitivity is only from 1-10. I'd like a 5.5. On the PC I think it was 1-999.

getting rid of Onslaught was a poor idea, and the community is only filled with hardcore players - so any casuals trying to get into UT3 has no chance.

In regards to the user generated content, didn't someone at Epic say if worse came to worse that all mods would have to be submitted through Epic first then they would put the content for download over Marketplace? That seems hardly ideal but I guess it's better than nothing.

I'm really not interested in paying full price for the gimped 360 version. I directly blame Nazisoft for their closed network. They hide behind this "giving the best experience to its users", if that is the case then give me the game that anyone but 360 owners get to enjoy to its fullest.

For a system that was touted as this "make it your own" BS and "user content will drive the system aka Velocity Girl" it's funny how they are the least to embrace it. Okay Nintendo isn't so hot either but this is just egg on the face of MS.

There are thousands of MODs for UT3 and a few extra "exclusive maps" aren't going to mean squat. These maps will be remade by the community and then so much for exclusive.

No sale.

Thousands of mods? Have you even PLAYED the game, let alone actually looked for mods? There are FEW mods overall. I love this game to death and have the PC version, but it isn't all that popular of a game (a lot of diehards prefer 2K4).

That post is ridiculously incorrect.
