Fan-made Tetris: The Movie trailer surprises us with quality

Web video gurus Black 20 (remember the PG version of 300?) have released a surprisingly well-made fake trailer for Tetris: The Movie. It sports a heavy, 300-level dose of blue screen CG, some cheap acting and an over-the-top soundtrack. The sad part of all this is that we're infinitely more excited about a fake video game adaptation than we ever have been about a real one. Our fingers are crossed on a movie trailer for the sure-to-be-torture film Dr. Mario.

Just something about the Pro Pro big budget lens quality. You could just tell this was "homemade" with the lens. Lens is everything. Not that it wasn't "entertaining" I'm just a lens guy. Also the plot and acting look very basic/simple. I'm just comparing it to something like 300 or Pulp Fiction. LOL!

If Uwe Bull were to make this, it would have even less to do with Tetris. It would be a story, probably about a girl, who goes on some journey and gets into the cheapest looking fights ever seen for little to no reason.
And somewhere in there, someone is playing a gameboy, on which you assume tetris is being played.

Me and my friends had an idea to make a Tetris movie trailer a while ago, only we thought it should be more of a "destruction movie" ala Armageddon or The Core (think giant tetris blocks smashing cites). Of course, that would have been nigh impossible for us to make without some CGI knowledge, but we had some pretty funny ideas for typical stuff you see in trailers ("In a worlds", Army guy/President saying "dear God", screaming angry scientist, and the guy who figuers out the only way to stop them is to stack them). And we were gonna put the majority of the trailer to the awesome Tetris theme song remix by Ozma.

I hope you guys like that ish out of sarcasm.. because it looks like it would make a truly miserable film if it were real. Seriously, Mario Bros woulda been better.

I freakin' love Black 20. Hilarious stuff they got there. If you remember the "This is CAKETOWN" 300 trailer- that was them to. I highly suggest you jump on their site for other cheesy comedy goodness!

I't would have been funnier if his brother had lost control while rapidly turning the tetra and smashed into another jutting piece. If you cast Jessica Alba or Scarlet Johanson as the female lead though I'll watch it. I'll watch it real good.

This seemed so much like it could be a real movie when I first watched it. Later, while watching real television, a real commercial came up advertising a real movie - Speed Racer. I think this trailer sets the movie up for being on par with or better than Speed Racer.
