Full version of indie gem Noitu Love 2: Devolution now available
20
With a title like Noitu Love 2: Devolution, we're fully aware that it sounds like the kind of inappropriate Japanese dating sim your creepy partner in junior high computers class would oft log on to Newgrounds to play -- but we hope that its unsettling eponym doesn't scare you off from what could be one of the best indie titles of the year. Observe the above trailer, and just try to suppress your glowing nostalgia for cult classics Gunstar Heroes and Mischief Makers.
Creator Joakim Sandberg recently made the full version of the game available to purchase on his website for $20 -- but we know that you, our thrifty readers, will download the free, recently extended demo, to see if the Treasure-esque, mouse-controlled action game touches your heart as it touched ours.

I don't comment on this site very often. However, I wanted to comment now just to mention that this game is freakin' wonderful. This may be the first time where I ever drop money on an indie game product but in this case, it may be worth it to reward this guy.
Reward him for what, you ask? Why, for taking me back to a time where games were more about simply getting from point A to point B while all sorts of crazy stuff happens along the way.

Follow the link in the post. There are two demo download links on the game's site. I choose link #2, but I doubt it matters.

Agreed. Maybe if it were 10$ I'd be more inclined...

My favorite indie title of all time, La-Mulana, I spent 50 hours on. (30 on my first run through, 9 or 10 for the secret dungeon, and about 18 more for my 2nd play through.) which was free, the only cost was my sanity during the bonus dungeon sequence (anyone who's played through it can attest to its difficulty, but I dare not speak its name.)
The last game that took me that long was Final Fantasy 6, where my first run-through was approximately 62 hours.
So unless this game can give me (at least) 20 hours of playtime, I don't think the asking price is worth it either.

He can't, it wasn't coded in a portable programming language. It'd have to be made again from scratch.

Warning: some people who bought this early have been having some trouble with the purchasing process.
However, anyone who got the game says it is way worth $20. It's got a couple of unlockable modes and several difficulties (and a few secrets). I'm planning on getting it soon.

I've spent more than $20 on dinners that lasted less than an hour and were less fun than this. It's a little on the short side, but definitely worth the price.

Needs some gamepad control options, then I'd be in business. Awesome game.

I bought it - support indie devs - this game is worth support. Fun demo - even more fun full version!

bah, give Legend of the Green Dragon a try. No fancy graphics, but still fun.
