Konami replacing botched Metal Gear Online beta codes

Fans of Kojima's genre-defining stealth action series only have to wait two more days until Konami flings wide the floodgates of the Metal Gear Online beta, giving North Americans with a pre-order bonus access code fourteen days to hide in cardboard boxes or perform questionable chiropractic procedures to their heart's content. Unfortunately, there are a number of Snakes-in-training who dropped a Lincoln to secure an incomplete beta code, due to a printing error at Konami HQ.
Konami Support requests that those that are missing digits shoot them an email with the partial code and a return email address so that they can respond with a functioning code. With less than 48 hours until the beta launch, we suggest they step on it -- with the rising costs of torches and pitchforks, we're not sure the gaming populous could afford another Halo 3 beta delay debacle.

My biggest problem was downloading the beta (3 hours), then downloading the update (2 hours) and then trying to get a Konami ID (3 days!). However, I am now ready to play me some MGO!!!
tmmoore_nc @ Apr 19th 2008 2:38PM
I've emailed them twice since Wednesday and I haven't heard a thing back.

Vegnagun bwf @ Apr 19th 2008 2:46PM
Replace the broken as hell Konami ID site first.
Papa Midnight @ Apr 19th 2008 4:34PM
Yeah that GAME ID issue kind of needs to be resolved before we can even think about playing Metal Gear Online.
John McPoop @ Apr 19th 2008 6:21PM
Its working fine now ... The problem was all of Europe got in the beta for free ... I did it last night at some random time after trying for three days straight and it worked perfect and was also very fast ... I think they have it fixed

I just want to ID site to work right. It will not stop timing out on me. Perhaps that's the test. I just can't do it fast enough.

That worked for me.

If you're using Firefox (I couldn't get IE to work at all on the site), you could try the Autoformer or iMacros extensions. I've still not managed to complete it yet but heard people who have using it.
Autoformer is easier to set up and you don't have to wait for pages to load 100% but iMacros clicks the "next" button automatically.
Can't guarantee anything but, with the wind blowing in the right direction and your luck rabbit's foot tightly clutched in your fist, it might just work out for you.
zombienutz @ Apr 19th 2008 4:16PM
Thanks for the tips guys. I am going to try out that one from the PS forum. Here we go...

Papa Midnight @ Apr 19th 2008 4:33PM
I just got some weird email from a one: Jennifer Roseman, KDE-US, Customer Support Representative (Phone number 310-22*-**** email: *******@konami.com).
===================
Hello,
These are MGO Beta users that have provided their incomplete code, and require a new code.
Kind Regards,
Jennifer Roseman
==================
Below it is a whole load of inline emails with botched MGO beta codes... I hope that wasn't Konami answering the call of those who complained about botched codes because if it is, they all just went to me and obviously, considering I do not work for Konami, that may be a bit of a problem...
Macroy @ Apr 19th 2008 5:05PM
Konami codes usually work, though. Are you sure you pressed Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start properly?
JakubK666 (Ninja Defence Force) @ Apr 19th 2008 5:18PM
Yeah it gives you 30 extra Cardboard Boxes.
HB96st @ Apr 19th 2008 5:09PM
isnt it "b-a, b-a then start?? Either way, +1 for you..
Hace @ Apr 19th 2008 5:20PM
Jesus christ people, have you never been in a beta before, shit like this will hapeen in almost every beta. That's why its called a fucking beta!
solidusbm @ Apr 22nd 2008 3:41PM
surefire ways to get your code and get registered:
call 310-220-8330, its konami support, pressed 1 and I told the operator I was looking for a replacement code and he gave a new one after giving him my bunk 9-digit, took about 10 minutes on hold.
to get registered, I was getting to the info input screen, but by the time i'd be done with all the fields whatever connection i had timed out. so i grabbed an auto fill for firefox and made sure it would input EVERYTHING. only took two tries to get going though i had to hit the email link a bunch of times to confirm.
i just got a 60gig and have no friends :(, so hit me up if you want someone to play with. also, FIRST COMMENT EVER!!! hope it helps ya'll
