Don't know if anyone said this, but this past Friday, Lazlow was on Opie & Anthony (showing off the final build of the game), and he mentioned that there will be DLC, exclusively for the 360 and it will be released by Summer 2008.

Ooh, what shall we we do? Sell a bit of DLC to one group of console owners or, sell entirely new episodes at full price to both groups? Let me think! Lol, rumor.

Large download content? As if. The limit on Xbox live is still 250mb (iirc), so unless they break thay limit massively it's going to be fairly small.

That limit is for Arcade games, obviously. Lots of content is much larger than that... (4GB movie rentals anyone?)

I think this is the game that breaks sony (and it's desperate fanboys) backs. Alot of people are gonna buy 360 over this game. If I was M$, I would promote the heck outta "WE HAVE EXCUSIVE DLC!!!"

This gonna be like a curse to sony for letting GTA go like this.. Heck, sony is lucky enough to have some deal in where the game drops for both systems at the same time. -If it dropped when it was done and R* didn't wait for the ps3 version, the ps3 wouldve been doomed.

In all seriousness, the ps3 is destined to be 3rd this go-around. Europe cant even save them now. In fact, I'm still waiting for Joystiq to do the "did you buy the ps3 for games or for blu-ray movies" poll. with the sales of the ps3 divided btwn gamers, fanboys and next-gen movie adopters..

That makes a hell of a lot of sense. Lets have a poll on a video game website, asking that question. I'm sure that plenty of non-gamers read this website.

I wonder how much space the expansions will take. I only have 8GB free on my 360's hard drive, and I don't imagine these expansions would be small downloads.

I wonder why Microsoft only has proprietary 20 and 120gb HDD options with so much content to offer whereas its Sony with its expandable hard drive but relatively little content to offer.

I can't believe Microsoft wants $180 for the 120gb HDD, ridiculous! Sony and Microsoft are evil but I wuv both of their consoles. 360 just a very very close second behind PS3. If I had enough time and money, I'd definately get both consoles but I can only pick one and its a hard decision. : )

It's pretty sad to me that people haven't even spent the $60 on the game yet to see if it's any good and they're already excited to spend MORE money.

I really think this is going to be an amazing game, I hope it will blow me away just like when I first saw GTA3 (haven't played 1 and 2).

Just like with the PC versions, there were many mods to add new character models, cars, etc.

Besides this episodic DLC, I hope there'll be DLC for new cars, radio stations, outfits, etc just like maps for Halo 3 and COD4. Hope these can come to the PS3 as well.

Its so great now this generation that all three consoles are well connected to the internet and we can get demos without wasting resources on printed demo discs, download extra levels and content for a game without getting new discs, etc.

R* already has the go-ahead to pass the limit.. And um, otam.. IT'S GTAIV!! PEOPLE WILL SPEND $10.00 MORE FOR DLC!

Everyone that has been blessed to play it have very few bad things to say about it. So that means GOTY status.. Whats $10.00 more?? I reserved the LE, and I will get the DLC also.

Bow down.

@HB96st

I would pay $10.00 for it no doubt about that at all ... Now, its all speculation now but if the content is indeed new islands that are big in size I can see it costing $19.99 or $29.99 an episode ... I might even purchase that content as well if I beat the game and get bored with the online ... Just seems to me that Microsoft will want to get a return on that $50 Million dollar investment ... Probably going to be some sweet DLC ...I wish details would get announced before the game releases ... I might end up buying the game twice ... PS3 for online play with friends and 360 for the DLC

AS some of you know how much i hate MS(for reasons), I'm willing to bet, that our GTAIV will be half assed.

Remember Bungie and their mere 11 maps, a breakthrough in history, a game of the decade? yeh MS was behind this, making sure mastercheif was the front man puppet towards gaining big numbers. ah, MC got me fulled as well.

MS: "We say you slice a bit off, then charge our loving customers full price. then we instantly make the sliced maps available for MORE $$$.

Well i really hope Rockstar didnt get TOO friendly with MS, since i dont want a game with missions missing - missions that would have been in the actual game if MS didnt get too desperate.

Just dont be surprised if ALL our GTAIVs are short in completion time MS girlfriends

John said: "If you had a 360 and were so scared of RROD you'd ebay it and buy a new one with the revisions that stopped RROD over a fucking year ago. Or you'd get the warranty and shut the fuck up."

----------------
Your statement alone, having to buy a new console just so I don't have to worry about RROD is a sad state of affairs for the 360. I know a guy whose 360 died, and he got an Elite, and that system RROD'd within a shorter time than the original. Tsk Tsk. I'm not bashing, it's just a shame that we consumers that paid our hard earned money have to put up with this to the extent that we have so far.

I don't mind that the 360 would get some sort of exclusive content. I don't see why anyone would worry about the PS3 getting some content either. It's a complete game without DLC anyways. I think the only DLC I would be interested in would be some content that added to the multiplayer mode of the game.

hmm. that is quite interesting. i figured it would be something stupid like extra missions or something but this would certainly make me jealous of the 360 owners. wouldnt it suck if it was just a boarded up part of the normal city that the DLC code unlocks? i dont know how much $50mil buys you in terms of video game development but color me intrigued.

Well, I dunno. I mean they did pay a big pile o' dough for the extra content, what does it matter if it's unlockable on the disc already or downloadable? Why does it matter what the vehicle of delivery is?

MS bought extra goodies, they're making it available to you for a few beans, it shouldn't matter which way you get it. Just my 2 cents.

MS didn't pay for development costs, they paid for exclusivity. They are basically paying for an incentive, which may or may not be completely exclusive. The game belongs to Rockstar and if they want to make other DLC, even exclusive DLC for PS3, to ensure everyone has an incentive to buy the game across the board, they will make it.

Maybe I'm a fool, but I find it hard to believe that exclusive DLC on the PS3 (or any computer/console for that matter) would make $50 million.

So unless they enjoy making MS very angry I doubt they would give any exclusive content to the PS3. I'm sure they would much rather get paid $60 million for exclusive content for GTAV ;)
