Like Halo 3 before it, the big holiday Xbox release has plenty of hype on its own to sell well. Plus, as Epic notes, creating a demo removes that much more from design, QA, production (and more) from the main game's development. They are, of course, correct, further noting that the game's two year production cycle would have made a demo even more difficult for Epic to pull off. *Sigh* All for the best we suppose.

there are some games i like and GOW was one of them.
tho i dont play it anymore, it was fun online.
i waited for H3 at midnight, GTAIV i will be there at midnight and GOW2 i will be there at midnight.

Actually, COD4 had a demo. Well, at least for the PC. I remember playing it and telling myself again and again how sweet the game was and how i was gonna buy it the moment it releases.
And meh, i didn't expect any demo for Gears 2. Demos only come out for avg. - crappy games. Big game developers don't really give a shit about demos anymore. Too scared i suppose. Sad. Very sad.

Who are these guys kidding? Are they afraid we might not like the game? GOW 1 was the ONLY Xbox 360 I've sold out of my collection... without a demo, this will be a rental for me.

You know how people in the music world feel the need to call other bands "lame no talent losers" while they go about listening to some old guy with a goatie screaming?
There the video games world version, E-Cool kids that think if they rebel against the popular and preach it everywhere possible they'll get some sort of social status. ;D

I do not care one bit that Gears 2 is not getting a demo, just like I don't care that there was no Halo 3 or GTA IV demo. I know what to expect already and I feel that the only games that I want a demo for are new franchises.

This game is going to melt my face off. I still play Gears of War at least for an hour everyday since it's been released (just played about 3 hours ago). It's full of B-movie cheese,ridiculous and over-the-top stuff like chainsaw bayonets and buckets of gore. This is the stuff badass horror movies like Evil Dead and Dead Alive are made of.
Gears of War 2 will be the first game I will ever stay out a midnight launch for.
