In our recent review of Baroque, we found that the game was a textbook slow starter. While it took about thirty minutes to get used to, the overall experience turned out to be pretty fun. Sadly, though, if we hadn't been reviewing the game, we probably would have given up on it before reaching the point of enjoyment. That made us wonder what other titles we might have aborted before things got good. Since we don't have all the time in the world to spend on our favorite hobby there may have been games that we abandoned, assuming them to be lost causes, when all they really needed was some more time.
So, we ask you, readers -- what games do you think started off slowly or poorly, but improved along the way? While we're mostly looking for Wii and VC answers (this is Nintendo Wii Fanboy after all), feel free to mention some games for other platforms, too.
