Toys R Us providing more Pokemon goodness to shoppers
16
Pokemaniacs should take note: Toys R Us is once again catering to the needs of Pokefanatics by offering you a chance to catch the uncatchable Darkrai Pokemon. The weekend of May 31 - June 1, participating Toys R Us stores will be providing inn keys to those who bring in their DS, along with a copy of Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl, which will provide them a shot at catching this bad boy thing.

Thanks for the 411.
I will pass this on to my niece & nephew.
The nightmare pokemon is a better promotion than the Manaphy promotion that Toys R Us did last year.
To the people who posted above me: if you're going to hack your Pokemon, then why play at all? Only LOSERS hack pokemon.
Cheating is lame IMO.
If you cheat at Pokemon, the only person you're cheating is yourself.
Peace.

They should just set up a table with little notecards with the ARDS code for the Pokemon on them.
Oh, and RupeeClock... Pokésav FTW

Umm there is no confirmation that they are giving away the Member Pass. It doesn't even say what they are doing. I have a feeling it's just a Darkrai in a Cherish Ball. I already have a Japanese one, I would prefer the in game event Darkrai though...

Thanks for the info. My friend always screws me over with his hacked Darkrai, but, you know, hacking defeats the purpose of the game so I don't do it. Now I can get a genuine Darkrai! That's quite a whiles away though. Why are they giving us such long-term notice?

@Tom - so kids have enough time to talk their parents into waiting in line for hours on end.
Besides, none of the stores actually have any signage about the event - it's all online at the moment.
At first, I was planning on going on one of the days, but the original plan of spending a weekend with my girlfriend instead sounds infinitely more fun than waiting in line for hours for a four hour event (and cutting the weekend in half).

It's not a 4 hour long wait and there are no lines. Everything is done wirelessly now since the DS now has wireless capabilities. All you have to do, from what I remember about the Manaphy giveaway, is go to the Mystery Gift option in the opening menu and download the gift/inn ticket/key/whatever. If you didn't have Mystery Gift before coming there, then it will finally show up on the opening menu. The whole process should only take about 2-5 minutes long.

Hackers suck, using legendaries in battle is for losers, real trainers go to the Battle Tower for kicks.
With that out of the way, WOO, DARKRAI EVENT~! I'll know it's 100% official when the next issue of Nintendo Power comes in and has something about it. That's how I found out about the Manaphy event.

it shouldent need a national pokedex.
just like prior downloads, you just need the pokedex you get 5 mins into the game. if they do give out the item for darkrai, then it will not do anything until you defeat the elite four.

This is GAAAAAY!
I've gone to the event. They don't even give you the damn membership pass! They just give you darkrai first hand!

Yup, no lines or anything to get the Darkrai. Just use the Mystery Gift, talk to the guy in green at a Pokemart, and there you have it: Lv. 50 Darkrai.
And you DO need the National Dex, I believe. Darkrai came with an Enigma Berry attached.
