Update: It looks like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 won't be delayed after all. UGO's original report misconstrued a statement on the conflicting launches of Activision's two Marvel properties. Both Ultimate Alliance 2 and Spider-man: Web of Shadows are still scheduled for release in 2008.
Original: Despite Activision's early claims of mass-Marvel action in 2008, it appears that the sequel to Marvel Ultimate Alliance won't be hitting shelves this year, after all. The delay is possibly an attempt to avoid dividing sales between the title and Spider-man: Web of Shadows, which is due out this fall.
Reporting from the NYC Comic-Con, UGO Gamesblog spoke with an Activision representative, who stated that the action RPG sequel will not be seeing a release in 2008. The original game (pictured above) was released in 2006 to largely favorable reviews.

I really liked the X-Men Legends game on the Xbox.
I was going to get Ultimate Alliance for the Wii, but it looked too similar to the first games. If I can see enough differentiation from its predecessors, I might pick this game up. Though, I may change my mind in the next 8-10 months.

"I need help! And a pony!"
and also
"Warning: a small thermonuclear device is missing, and Deadpool was last seen in the weapons lab."
and who could forget
Deadpool: "Weasel old buddy! Where have you been hiding out?"
Weasel: "In the hospital, you stabbed me in the leg remember?"
Deadpool: "Oh yeah, but I had to, you were trying to steal my last Cheesy Puff."
Weasel: "It was my bag of Cheesy Puffs!"
Deadpool: "That's not how I remember it."
Pretty much everything Deadpool says and does in that game is hilarious and awesome. In fact, that's not just restricted to the game.

I never finished the original... Of course this is based because I snagged it on PS3. When Activision said "PS3 version will have console exclusive effects and graphics because it do more than 360" they forgot to mention "in extra for extra shiny, we take your framerate and rape it.... rape it hard like it our bitch."
Wish I would have known this beforehand, I would have gotten Untold Legends at launch instead... which I actually had much more fun with when I bought it later for $20. Sure, the story was stupid but what high fantasy game can't claim the same? I just need a loose reason why I'm cutting a town full of zombies to bits. "King be evil, yo! His evil be turning people to monsters." Works for me....

I didn't even know that an announcement had been made about Ultimate Alliance 2 being released in 08... oh well. I'll buy this game when it drops in price to somewhere around $30. I really enjoyed the first game, and beat it a couple of times (I hate when you have to unlock a harder difficulty by playing it on an easier one!).
Hopefully I won't have to pay extra for The Hulk and Venom this time.

I liked the X-men Legends games a bit better than UA. They were more Diablo-esque, a bit faster-paced, and more justifiable story-wise. As a Marvel comics fan, the story in UA made me cringe so much that I skipped most of the text and cutscenes. I mean, the Avengers vs. Arcade? Arcade? Seriously? X-Factor alone have proven more than his match in recent books, and X-Factor are nobodies.
Unfortunately I had the Wii version and therfore missed out on the DLC; hopefully that can be remedied this time around (and if not, you'd better believe I'll just get it for 360).

Really looking forward to this one. Last game was one of my all time favorites, much better than legends series. Agreed that deadpool should still be playable, had him in my team with wolvie...their back and forth was priceless.

Well good for them, maybe now they can actually take time out to actually make it a decent game.

I hope it has better graphics. That's really the only thing i'd care about as far as improving the game. Sure as a pure game it was sub par at best, but the Marvel License really made it shine, and the only thing id like more is a second with one graphics to reflect that shine

This will keep happening until Devs just drop BS3 for their titles, 360 and the Wii are far better choices. Wii's average attach rate is 3.5:1, 360's is 7:1. They could grab more of the pie now if they stopped wasting time and money on BS3 versions.

Well you gotta realize, any developer that is not first party and is developing a game for a console as expensive as PS3 and 360 would be foolish to not just port it to both console for maximum return (almost out of necessity with this generation of consoles).

Way to tard it up.
1. PS3 has a higher attach rate than Wii.
2. THIS HAS FUCK ALL TO DO WITH THE SYSTEM. Seriously, READ. It says it's delayed, if it's delayed, because they don't want a Spiderman Game to compete with a Marvel game for shelf space....

Every time a game released on 360 or Wii and BS3 it is delayed because the Dev has to take longer to get it out for a simultaneous launch. Why you ask, well it's Sony BS.

Hope they put a little more effort into the cut scenes this time around. The graphics in the game in general sorta stumbled through and some of the cut scenes where ok, but about half of them looked like they where cooked together in a rush.
So polish the graphics more in general, but especially fix up the cut scenes.

Heh i didn't know they were making a 2nd Marvel ultimate alliance..
First one was fun..
Hopefully they'll add better camera and better views, also a better level up system instead of the ultimate x-men one they keep relying on. they need to fix it and release it in 2009..DONT RUSH IT!
