It definitely beats the crap out of my NES cart mp3 player in both difficulty and execution. Unlike Kotami, however, I used the ever crappy MLB instead of the classic (but admittedly commonplace) SMB. Absolutely awesome mod!

yes, it is kind of sad to rip up an old SMB cart, but I also think it is a kind of homage to the NES.

Heh, this just shows the NES could have been a lot thiner.

Nintendo just thought fat was a good look in the .80's.

Nope, the original NES doesn't have that much emptyness in it. This one uses a NES-on-a-chip, like those cheap knockoff systems with a bunch of built-in pirated games. Basically reduces the NES to a single-chip system, although they're nowhere near perfect clones(Some games won't run properly or at all on them, sound and picture can be different when compared to a real NES)

NES carts however could have been a hell of a lot smaller, reduced to the size of Famicom carts.

There's a reason behind the design for the NES: Because of the state of the videogame market at the time(Thank you Atari) Nintendo didn't want to sell the system as a videogame system, but rather as an "entertainment system". This is the reason for the bigger game packs, the VCR-style front loading and the color scheme, as well as various released and unreleased addons.

I would have used the E.T. game or the Quaker Oats game instead of destroying the purity that is SMB. still, pretty awesome mod.

I'm glad there was no picture of a NES cart plugged into that mod. It would almost be an unnatural act against God if they showed it.

He also should put the insides of SMB in a hollow NES, then he could play SMB in his NES on the NES in his SMB.

that clearly isn't an original nes system in that, it's one of those clone systems with built in games hacked to accept regular cartridges, hence how minute it is.
someone's done this before with a nes inside of a nes controller, I can't think of where I saw it but try googling
