Rock Band Weekly: Judas Priest's Screaming for Vengeance

The Rock Band store gets its first full album this week with Judas Priest's Screaming for Vengeance. The Rock Band forums also mention that The Cars' The Cars and the Pixies' Doolittle are coming in the "near future." The Who's Who's Next is still on the docket, but apparently isn't what's next.

Screaming for Vengeance album (1200 MS points / $15) -- All songs are also sold individually (160 MS Points / $2), except "The Hellion" and "Electric Eye," which are bundled at the price of one track.

Agreed. Screaming for Vengeance is definately in the top five candidates for best metal album of the eighties - only the works of Megadeth really outclass them in my book.

No rockband in Australia = no $ for EA. How's that for a business model.

The kind that also keeps them from paying distribution fees.

Trust me, EA is not losing any money. Ever. Even if you went into their bank account and emptied it, spending it all on high-class prostitutes, EA would still come out on top, financially.

THE PIXIES' DOOLITTLE? DO want!!

It's nearly 5 AM and I haven't gone to bed yet. This little bit of good news is just what I needed to keep on working through the night.

The Hellion/Electric Eye (master) was on GH 80's ed.....the chart was madness I wonder how much it will change on Rock Band...

Judging from some of the other "recharts" (Synchronicity II, War Pigs) I would imagine they'd scale it back a bit.

The 80's verison had some fun songs...but all the charts were easy with the exception of one part each had that was INSANE and would barely allow you to squeak by (provied you had enough Star Power)

Extreme's "Play With Me" remains the legitimately hardest chart in GH's Career Mode. I remember the hell I went through on HARD to beat it.

No one played 80s...hell I liked it...My top three are:
Hold on Loosely
Round and Round
Lonely is the Night

18 and Life (Ricky was a young boy...)
Seventeen (love that solo!!)
Electric Eye (madness...see you on the drums!)

I still think Activision was fucking retarded not to release the Rocks the '80s tracks as DLC for GHII on 360. When the game first dropped for PS2, I swore up and down that this would be DLC inside of a month. I now figure that it had something to do with HMX's breakup with Activision. Damn shame though. They'd have made a ton of cash off of that...

......How the HELL is anyone going to sing all those songs on expert, that's just murder....

I'm hoping my voice will be a bit better so I can sing Screaming for Vengeance tonight. :p

Yeah, me too. I'm gonna pass on this one...well, I'll probably pick up "You've got another thing comin," but Cars and Dolittle are definite locks!

Oh, for all you Priest fans out there: if you haven't seen it already, track down a copy of Heavy Metal Parking Lot (which was filmed in my great home state of Maryland). Nobody here will ever be as big a JP fan as Zebra Man!

That many posts and no one mentions the price? Was the price for full albums previously announced?

$15 is pretty steep for DLC I think, but if it's something you are going to play and enjoy I can see it being worth it. I bought the $10 Boston pack, love it, and think it was a good purchase. I could see spending $15 on Who's Next.

I hope they release a wider variety of full albums so that everyone can find something worth that price.

Thursday can't come soon enough. This is the only reason I regret getting Rock Band for my PS3, what with having to wait a whole two days after the 360 gets the dlc to be able to play them. Why can't Sony just update on Tuesdays like Microsoft?

To this day I still have no idea why they only update their store on thursdays instead of putting stuff on the store as it comes like MS. It's pretty frustrating.
