Yeah, I'm still having issues with it, too.

I'm logged in for about 7 minutes, then get kicked again, and again, and again.

I am SO relieved that I'm not alone on this. But I am extremely peeved that Live is still not working up to scratch. Hopefully this gets rectified soon....

Basically, as far as I'm concerned, this news isn't dated and is still ongoing...

BTW - It's doubtful we'll get a free game out of this. No matter how annoying this is, it is in NO WAY, shape or form as bad as the Christmas period ... that was borderline ridiculous and went on close to a month!!!

Plus, it only seems to be affecting a minority, rather than a majority as most of my friends are having no problems at all with Live. Just unfortunate me. :(

I was having trouble last night. I'd sign in, it would sign me out.

They do need to fix it, but I look at it this way. I have a Wii and a 360, and the online on the 360 is AWESOME when it works... most of the time. The Wii online is terrible all the time. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon, but I wish they'd update the Marketplace, and the game sorting for your XBLA titles.

wow .... I've been a staunch defender of the ~$60 I spend a year on XBL (compared to PSN), but the track record since Christmas is abysmal (by online service standards). Moreover, the whatever the 9s of uptime we've still enjoyed, from the PR perspective this very, very bad ... how much stuff is left in this space that really justifies the annual fee?

I know that the social networking of XBL still exceeds PSN, and the marketplace is nice (though does cost me extra $$) ... but what is left that justifies the cost? The Major's Minute certainly is not worth the fee. And, outside of the console market, social networking and collaboration is a *free* commodity. If PSN's Home delivers, MS has a challenge on it's hands.

& if the GTA launch suffers under all of this (and if the PSN's does not), then Gods Help those in Redmond. All this said, I've for my GTA pre-order for the 360 in ... so here's hopin'.

I work in public-facing large enterprise IT and have a full understanding of the multi-layered nature of tech problems and app development, and have been at the core of many critical issues (and their resolution), and have a full appreication of the complexity of these environments ... but, damn, whatever my empathy, the marketing-case for XBL is getting *weaker* by the minute.

Look, I don't have anything against you or your site, but when you come up in the middle of a conversation and start talking about your site and your contest, both of which are completely unrelated to the conversation, you just sound like a spammer.

Do you go up to people at parties and, regardless of what they're talking about, try and change the topic to your website? If so, that's why people don't talk to you at parties. If not, hopefully what I've said will sink in and you'll explore other marketing venues for your website.

I can sign in.... but about two minutes after I do I keep getting dropped.

Soooooo I guess no lessons were learned from the holiday debacle? I guess we'll all be swearing and complaining together next week when GTA comes out and the weak and frail servers are crushed by the car stealing behemoth? Come on MS, you're making a fuckton of money on us - give something back - like a working, fully functional xbox live.

I actually found the premise of the contest to be quite amusing. He talks about a 24 hour marathon session of play, but if people are getting kicked out of Live every seven minutes ... well ... it'll be more like a sprint than a marathon..

Yea it sucks, I have not been able to 100% log into Live until this morning at 8:30am EST. I missed two days of Halo (I took a day off on one day to play)

But I am okay with this as long as April 29th and after is smooth sailing. As XFB said, I am "just pretending to play online until April 29th."

which reminds me I have to order it or I may be SOL for a while

I haven't been able to connect since Tuesday because my 360 keeps failing the IP Address test, which is bullshit. I was on the phone for 50 minutes with a support tech from Microsoft and another 20 minutes on the phone with the internet company and neither could give me a straight answer. Does anybody else's XBox fail at the IP Address test?

My XBOX logs in for about 10 seconds and then logs off. About 3-4 min later it logs in and remains that way but you cant use it to play games or anything. Its annoying. You can see profiles and messages (after the second login) but you cant see pictures (in messages) or use it for games...

I just bought an xbox 360 for my 14 year old son but, I can`t get it to connect to xbox live. It gives me a disconnected error. I`m going through a linksys nr041 wired router and my internet on the same line works fine,I`ve tried by-passing the router and go straight to the xbox from the modem and get the same message.I have the xbox set to auto detect the address as well.
Any help will be appreciated, Thanks,Dennis
