Too much hassle to steal! Chipped xbox's, downloading it, no on-line etc. It's worth the retail price and i can afford the retail price, plus you'll get a nice box and manual.

Why is it only 7 gigs. Didnt that Hauser guy say that they were being constrained by the disk space?

Xav I support Xbox 360fanboys decision to publish this story. It is news and it is Xbox360 Related. I remember Yahoo reported when the Phantom Menace was leaked. Piracy of media is rampant and is part of our lives now. I Disagree with the other posters who say your promoting the awareness of this existing. I noticed at the end of your article you strongly discouraged anything related to bootlegging this game.

GTA IV will be purchased in full by me. Even if i got a leaked copy beforehand (which I have not). The thing is, I appreciate greatness. In Movies or gaming. I buy many of the movies I see after I have seen them for my collection. I have many games that I have played and finished. The thing to me is yes some people are all about themselves and do not take in to account the countless hours that go in to a game like GTA IV. I think that those people really do not care or have any respect for much in their lives.

Can one play on LIVE with a modded 360 and a downloaded game? Can MS tell the difference? That would be the main reason I wouldn't get it via torrent.

The bottom line is that pretty much every damn game since the dawn of creation has been leaked so if this is "news" then my mother is Madonna and she's still a virgin. So don't talk to me about being "responsible" for publishing "news".

From the gameplay i saw this game looks amazing. If you google it youll find a bunch of sites with various gameplay footage.. The city looks amazing, kinda SIM like. framerate seemed great and physics were cool when you walked or ran over people. I thought i saw a slow motion scene when NIKo tried to run over a pedestrian with his car...

OK OK iam gonna buy the game. This will be my 1st GTA title.

Hmmm, it wasn't the Asia release that was leaked. According to Icon, the release group, it was the UK-PAL version. Either way, all PAL versions are the same with the exception of Australia and their qwerky censorship/rating system.

It was always going to be leaked though and with such demand it was always coming early.

RE: Perno: yes, but at you're own risk. No idea what was in the last update so potentially new security checks. At present, no MS can't tell if its legit or not (well. presuming you did everything correctly your end) ICON have even said stay off live til monday if you are gonna leach it.

I don't mind them posting the story, however I wish they wouldn't have posted the file size. Not that it really matters, as you can tell by how many seeders are on a file which one is legit, however it wouldn't be bad if a few people got fake copies instead with the wrong filesize.

fwiw i saw this on a couple private trackers, and articles on other sites before x3f posted it. for those saying its a bad idea to post this... even if x3f didnt blog this, it would still be some of the biggest news in the video game/internet world. i dont think x3f will have that big of an effect on the overall amount of people leeching the game.

@britton...alot of people got caught when halo3 was leaked, just saying u think MS is gonna sit back and let this go on and on. there is a patch or update coming that will catch alot of modders out. thats all im saying, made alot of sence to me.
modders are ?uckers and i hope every single one of them gets whats coming to them....

i got gta6 and what a game it is and who in there right minds isnt going to get it early the people bitching are only jealous because they cant get it and for those who think the 360 cant be modded get with the times its been done for ages i will make a mint off this 1 if games werent so exspensive it would kerb the copying but im not going on anymore im off to play a wicked game

Its not GTA6 but it does bring question to R*'s naming conventions. I can think of 8 GTA's in their own right without including the original 2 expansion packs for GTA 1 (GTA, GTAII, GTAIII - vice city, san andreas, liberty city stories, GTA Advance and now GTAIV.

As for X3F reporting it; it won't bring more piracy. People with modded consoles probably (or at least should) know where to find such information.

Xbox360 has been running unsigned code almost since it was released....

GTA4 wont need installation in xbox360...but it remains the only system where it can run pirated...

OH I GET IT!!....since everyone can get it free (leaked)...they plan on actually making money with the NOT FREE content over the XBL Marketplace....

I guess thats why psn wont have that kind of content, bc ppl will acually pay for the game...crap.

I think i'd pay double right about now for a copy, i've been waiting since early last year, and i'll be outside at 11pm monday waiting for this, tempted to try and mug the video game shop employee on the way to the car to get a copy, but its not worth it, 50% chance i'd mug the wrong guy, why can't their be giant yellow arrows in real life, lol

I find the 6.3GB size interesting. There was a recent article about how DVD9 was so restrictive for the developers of GTA IV. I suspected that they were just trying to make people think the game was so great. Kind of like a promotional gripe. I guess they had a little room left after all.
