[Update: Audiosurf creator Dylan Fitterer just wrote us to say "Must have been a miscommunication. I never said Audiosurf was coming to XBLA."]
If you haven't played Audiosurf, you're missing out on one of the best fusions of music and game since Milon's Secret Castle. After importing any MP3 you like, you're hurtling down a procedurally-generated course collecting and destroying gems, with every twist and turn created by your music. We know, we know, we're explaining it poorly. You really just have to try it.
According to GamesTM, you might soon have another way to do just that. In a feature about Audiosurf, the magazine reported that the game will be available "soon on Xbox Live Arcade." It seems like it would be a great fit on XBLA, so here's hoping we get some more official word soon.
[Thanks, Jonah]

Would love to see you play a racing game with a mouse. You only need to use an analog stick, not the shoulder buttons or the triggers, stupid.
And I'd LOVE to see you compete in a racing game with a mouse instead of a driving wheel. (laugh)

I actually haven't paid much attention to the achievements, because of mostly just focusing on how to get a high enough score on some songs to even REGISTER on the leaderboards...lol.
But understand, no one is knocking the 360, or knocking Xbox... I think achievements are cool, I have very few problems with the Live setup on the 360. And I also very much enjoy gaming on the Wii with the wife and friends. No PS3 yet, but it will come eventually, when the price is right, and the games are there to match.
I'll play a good game on any system, as long as it plays to that system's strengths. And I believe that Audiosurf plays to the PC's strengths more than a console/gamepad, but hey... I would love to be proven wrong, because I love Audiosurf, and would love to see more rhythm games that let you use your own music, instead of sucking your wallet dry for questionable DLC songpacks.

Actually I've been using my Xbox 360 wired controller on my PC Audiosurf and I think its way more enjoyable to sit back and enjoy having it rumble whenever I get a block.
But other aspects make Audiosurf better on the PC- it's right there with your music library.

Yeah, that's another thing - is there a RumbleMouse?
And like I said:
1. AudioSurf comes with 360 controller support, and plays better.
2. A racing game will always be best on a driving wheel. THen an analog stick. Then, a mouse. Keyboards are for the masochistic.

This is a must have game everyone. If you're a fan of music and you have a huge library, you're going to be entertained forever!

Best part is that it CAN double as a visualizer - there's a mode just to let the song play.

Jonah - did you miss the parts where I said that the mouse and keyboard has it's place, as does the gamepad, depending on the game?
I don't think anyone is going to argue with something as retarded as "Try racing with the mouse!"
You are kind of stretching it there. But it's funny how defensive you feel you need to be about it. if you prefer the gamepad for it, more power to you! Using a mouse does not affect directions either, unless you suffer from some kind of mental retardation.
The difference between the mouse and the gamepad, is that the mouse speed and range of movement, is totally up to you.
With the gamepad, what I am saying is that you can NOT immediately move the analog stick to exactly the point where you want the ship to go.
On the easier difficulties, and with rock (and slow to medium speed songs), you probably wouldn't even notice much difference, as the blocks will have enough spacing, and less color changes.
And I have yet to be moving my mouse up and down, instead of left to right, and have my ship not respond...lol.

btw - I would love to see someone try to play Audiosurf with a racing wheel. That would probably be the WORST control option for the game, hands down.
It may APPEAR to look like a racing game, but it is far from it. It's more of a puzzle game wrapped up to look like something out of an F-Zero stage... but there is a big difference in the gameplay, you are just avoiding a few cars and hitting the gas/brakes, you are constantly whipping from lanes to lanes to collect SPECIFIC Blocks... if you are playing Audiosurf as a racing game, you aren't going to score very high, and I think you'll find that you don't "race" anyone - you are going to finish when the song finishes...

Sweet I like this game. You can also connect your ipod to the 360. I wonder if it will be able to take tunes from the ipod directly?

For some reason, my 360 no longer registers my iPod as an HDD when I plug it in. The ipod just keeps blinking "do not disconnect" but it never pops up on the dash. Fuck.

I really really REALLY hope the developer will finally add some extra information to the online scoreboards so we don't end up having to play against people who are using a different version of the song.
I've got a few records in some songs, but someone always comes up with a longer version of it, or it has a completely different curve... and they can get twice or three times my score that way.
I've suggested adding an algorithm that would compare track time, the highway curve, and even take into account the ALBUM name so this doesn't happen, but... the dev hasn't said anything about this.
Cheaters suck. I HOPE XBLA won't have to deal with those asshats.

The guys at AudioSurf are always plugging away. Did you complain about this in the AS forums?

as much as i'd love to see it come to XBLA with enhanced graphics etc. I think the mouse/touchpad (seriously!!!) is a better control method; the game is more Breakout meets Super Puzzle Fighter than racer.
