Wii Fanboy Weekly: Apr. 17 - Apr. 23

What a week to be a Wii Fanboy. Not only are we giving away 5, count 'em, 5 copies of Mario Kart Wii, but we're also paying homage to the game by contributing a new feature every day up until its release. On Sunday, we spoke about the franchise's history. On Monday, we talked about the alternate kart universe and what the racers could be ripping through turns in. Yesterday, we talked about substitute Wii Wheels. Today, it's all about who else we would like to see make an appearance in a Mario Kart game.
Oh, and did we mention we're giving away 5 copies of Mario Kart Wii?

This game is not doing so well overall on Metacritic ... Here are the two lowest reviews here ... It has an 82 overall which is strange because usually first party Nintendo games are always rated super high ... I will still pick it up at some point but certainly not before I pick up GTA IV. This game just doesn't have the same feel of excitement SSBB had. At least for me it doesn't have that same feeling.

Well, Double Dash is the Mario Kart game with the lowest score, but is my favorite...
I don't know why people did't like Double Dash... people seems to prefer Mario Kart 64, but I just played it today in VC, and it's not as good as people remember.
Mario Kart Double Dash is the most professional game in the series. I just love that game.
Well, this is coming from a Mario Kart junkie... Double Dash still is my most played game since the release date.
Now I think is time to stop playing Double Dash and start with Mario Kart Wii, until the next Mario Kart.

Since when was 82 a bad score? Last I checked, that was above average and even stepping into 'great' territory.
Oh, and I like how you said 'the two lowest reviews' rather than 'the only two average-scoring reviews the game got'.

Plus I have a habit of hooting and hollering whenever I get to bask in the tactile pleasure of getting to see Pit fly right off the screen after a facefull of Purple Pikmin or Sonic boot.

Who ever said the game was bad? I was just surprised it didn't have a higher average because all of the recent ones like SSBB & Galaxy have had critical acclaim ... From some of the reviews I have read MK Wii is not as deep or well thought out ...

Your the one who said anything below 85 was average ... I happen to agree with you on something ... I have enjoyed a lot of games that sucked and hated a lot of games others loved ... Loved Army Of Two & Lair & I hated Halo 3 & Assassins Creed ... Play what you like you know ... This shit is my escape from reality for a few hours a day ...

Didn't bash anything, didn't say RROD, didn't say the Wii is a gimmick, didn't say the PS3 has no games and I didn't say I need a Nasa computer to play Crysis ... You know, it's kinda funny, but... I don't feel all that hyped for Mario Kart Wii.
I am not tired of Mario and his pals, nor am I tired of Mario Kart (I was so excited for MKDS, and it is my personal favorite).
Why am I not feeling it for MKWii? It's not like I hate the Wii Wheel, like so many other posters here do. I'm willing to use it.

It's fucking Mario Kart. What does everyone expect? It a silly racer with cheap-ass cheating AI, just as it's always been. It's nothing new (reusing tracks from the old games seemed to rub your nose in this fact), but playing online is fun and it's good to put on instead of Wii bowling with a bunch of pissed mates around because the randomness makes it more "that guy" proof.
