Is it Christmas again, already? Xbox.com is acknowledging what many of you probably already know, which is that Xbox Live is having some issues. The service is "up and running," but users may experience matchmaking and voice communication issues.
Now it's time to play the half-glass game! Glass is half-empty: Why are customers paying for a service that can't fulfill its basic promoted functions? Broken services should be free. Glass is half-full: At least it's happening now. It could be worse, this could still be going on next week during the GTA IV launch.

I'm waiting at least a week before taking GTAIV online (I have a feeling that knowing the map layout might be handy in Cops & Crooks). Then I'll be booting everyone that sounds like they're under 18, for their own good of course. Can't let those evil videogames warp young minds...

Hmm... why pay for aservice that occasionaly has issues? Let's see... my internte connection occasional goes down. Every now and then the electricity goes out. Sometimes,my cable TV doesn't work. Occasionally, the car I lease breaks down.
Haven't yet run into any product or service that is 100 percent perfect.
As to whether or not they are building up for GTA IV hitting -- anyone think that maybe the latest update and the problems are because they are making system wide changes to handle the increased load?

But you tend to forget that gamers are the biggest bitches in the world. I ordered a $200 XM radio on monday. Instead I got a crappy $80 one in the mail. Since I was inconvenienced I had two choices: 1) Dump XM or 2) Let them fix the problem and relax.
A day later I was listening to Opie and Anthony ( featured radio hosts in GTA 4 ) and listening to portable satellite radio. It sucked having to wait, but it really wasn't that bad.

How is it that XBL was smoother on Xbox than it is on 360. Don't they have better tech now? I don't remember Live ever having these hiccups in the days of the Xbox.

i dont exactly think thats a good way to look at it, "the service we pay for is not working, but hey at least its not working now instead of later", thats just stupid. i play rainbow six vegas 2 online alot and not only am i constantly being told i cant establish a connection to host, but i cant establish voice chats with my friends (or even hear them in game, or view leaderboards in some arcade games. this service is not worth $50, but if it is the only way i can play games with my friends i suppose im forced to.

Holy bitchfest Batman!
Are there really droves of people home at 8am in the morning EST playing XBL? Your parents really let you stay home all day with no job? Lucky little bastards.
I suggest you get a job, or got to community college. Then when you get home from work or from school you can play Xbox and feel like you aren't a useless leech attached to your parents monetary tit.
Anyway! Please kiddos. Read the fine, fine, fine print on your XBL agreement (which you clicked "Yes I agree" without reading) ... you pay for a service that is NOT GUARANTEED TO BE WORKING. But hey, so do I, and I'm happy with what I pay for.
