Capcom offers box art 'redemption' for Okami Wii
Capcom has responded to the Okami Wii box snafu by offering replacement cover artwork "to better reflect the artistic nature of the game," which we presume is a more professional way to say "to better remove the reflection of the IGN watermark."
Head over to the Cover Artwork Redemption page (yes, they call it redemption) to fill out the form and choose one of three designs, including a "redesigned" version of the original. Previews for the other two replacements are shown above. The offer is free and an email confirmation from Capcom states the cover art will be shipping "in the next few weeks."

Trev you're so meta =)
PojoMofo @ Apr 24th 2008 10:28AM
Is that a Gamespot watermark on there?
j/k, the whole IGN watermark story is one of the more hilarious ones of the week to me..
FOXHOUND @ Apr 24th 2008 10:32AM
I'm surprised CAPCOM didn't offer a box art contest for this... and generate even more hype for the game. Ah well.
PojoMofo @ Apr 24th 2008 10:36AM
could you imagine all the hidden watermarks in a box art contest?? That would be funny
FOXHOUND @ Apr 24th 2008 10:50AM
LOL half the reason why I posted that suggestion...
Capcom Marketing> "Someone used the 'O' from the Oprah Magazine logo for the 'O' in OKAMI." -crumples up the 'artwork', throws it away- "And look here... A paintbrush style, hidden PLAYBOY Magazine bunny logo in the background..."

Submitting your name and address via non-secure webpage? My word, what I dreadfully poor idea!
I say, though. Those new covers are capital.
Oh dear. I seem to have submitted my name and address via a non-secure webpage for some reason. Heavens.
Donald @ Apr 24th 2008 10:45AM
If you add "s" to the http part, it'll go to a secure page for you.
If you're intelligent enough to be concerned about the security of your personal information, you should be intelligent enough to know that.
A Pissed-off English Gamer @ Apr 24th 2008 11:08AM
Higher intelligence doesn't make you suddenly aware of an obscure piece of information. I thought you'd be intelligent enough to know that.
Lord Thisiwig von Trundlebottom @ Apr 24th 2008 11:28AM
Smashing, old bean, tip-top advice that.
Curious, however. You see, the addition of an errant 's' does not always guarantee the presence of a secured site. Lucky break in this case, though!
Pip pip.
BIGGEN @ Apr 24th 2008 5:52PM
@donald
your pic sucks and you're a dick. where should i add the 's' in that sentence, hmmm?
Gokie @ Apr 24th 2008 10:39AM
They're definitely doing the right thing, and I applaud them for it. I just wish I could get all 3 covers - I absolutely adore the artwork for Okami.
Hmm, maybe I'll get some friends to get them for me ^^
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Apr 24th 2008 10:41AM
A new cover for my PS2 version... nice.
By the way, if someone else is going to buy the standard version of MGS4, I do plan to scan the artwork from the collectors edition... so a collab to get decent cover art on the standards would be nice/
Ghen @ Apr 24th 2008 3:35PM
A new cover for my downloaded version, nice =)
Britton @ Apr 24th 2008 10:58AM
Yeah, I totally ordered the greenish one (the middle option) even though I don't have this game on the Wii 'cause I already dished out some bones for the PS2 version nine eons ago. Color me stoked.
flameofdoom666 @ Apr 24th 2008 1:04PM
haha me too, but I picked the one to the left.
I did not get a confirmation e-mail, did you get one?
Britton @ Apr 24th 2008 3:46PM
I got a confirmation fairly fast. But I'm also using a Special Edition Gmail account that was distributed to the passengers of the Normandy ship...so yeah, that's probably it.
But in all seriousness, I have no idea what would've caused such a delay. Try a different email address or make a temporary gmail account (if you don't already have one, which you should) and see if that works.
Sabastian Chadwick McGirt @ Apr 24th 2008 11:00AM
the site is called Cover artwork Redemption?
Must be some kind of translation error.
Jacksons @ Apr 24th 2008 11:11AM
Poor Capcom's going to ship more covers than there are Wii versions of the game. Still, nice of them to fix it.
jcd @ Apr 24th 2008 11:24AM
Haha, I got one too, for my ps2 version. I got it used so I got no cover, this fixes it.
D_Average @ Apr 24th 2008 12:03PM
How about a program to replace the busted controls? Or at the very least, classic controller support.
jsutcliffe @ Apr 24th 2008 12:19PM
Oh dear. I totally hadn't processed that the IGN mark was on the _printed boxart_ for the game. I thought it was just on some images Capcom had released. That's ridiculous.
NukeAssault @ Apr 24th 2008 12:19PM
How damn! Can haz all 3 capcom?
bobartig @ Apr 24th 2008 1:04PM
They should have made mini posters of these and sold them as well.
flameofdoom666 @ Apr 24th 2008 1:06PM
I own the PS2 version day 1, but I am not sure about a Wiimake, considering I do not have an HD TV and the new screen features do not matter much for me. I applied for the left boxart for my PS2 version, and it said I will get a confirmation e-mail, but I did not get it yet-
Has anyone gotten a confirmation e-mail yet?
samfish @ Apr 24th 2008 1:12PM
I ordered both of 'em.
Go me!
CNash @ Apr 24th 2008 1:37PM
I wonder - do the new cover images include the Wii logo, symbols and back of box blurb? The previews don't have them.
Kun Hitori @ Apr 24th 2008 1:40PM
Dear Capcom:
What if I want all three?
Seriously.
a.j. @ Apr 24th 2008 2:50PM
uh. 3 email addresses.
wossName @ Apr 24th 2008 2:32PM
Classy move!
deft @ Apr 24th 2008 5:14PM
I ordered both, I may order the fixed original one just to have them all
Magica @ Apr 25th 2008 12:50AM
I'm curious on if BradyGames is going to do anything, since the logo is on the cover of their game guide right next to Ammy's nose.
Majinpan @ Apr 25th 2008 2:22AM
What I'm wondering is if the most popular choice might reflect on future printings of the game. Assuming there is another printing...
