Capcom offers box art 'redemption' for Okami Wii

Capcom has responded to the Okami Wii box snafu by offering replacement cover artwork "to better reflect the artistic nature of the game," which we presume is a more professional way to say "to better remove the reflection of the IGN watermark."

Head over to the Cover Artwork Redemption page (yes, they call it redemption) to fill out the form and choose one of three designs, including a "redesigned" version of the original. Previews for the other two replacements are shown above. The offer is free and an email confirmation from Capcom states the cover art will be shipping "in the next few weeks."

j/k, the whole IGN watermark story is one of the more hilarious ones of the week to me..

I'm surprised CAPCOM didn't offer a box art contest for this... and generate even more hype for the game. Ah well.

could you imagine all the hidden watermarks in a box art contest?? That would be funny

They're definitely doing the right thing, and I applaud them for it. I just wish I could get all 3 covers - I absolutely adore the artwork for Okami.

By the way, if someone else is going to buy the standard version of MGS4, I do plan to scan the artwork from the collectors edition... so a collab to get decent cover art on the standards would be nice/

Yeah, I totally ordered the greenish one (the middle option) even though I don't have this game on the Wii 'cause I already dished out some bones for the PS2 version nine eons ago. Color me stoked.

I got a confirmation fairly fast. But I'm also using a Special Edition Gmail account that was distributed to the passengers of the Normandy ship...so yeah, that's probably it.

But in all seriousness, I have no idea what would've caused such a delay. Try a different email address or make a temporary gmail account (if you don't already have one, which you should) and see if that works.

Poor Capcom's going to ship more covers than there are Wii versions of the game. Still, nice of them to fix it.

Haha, I got one too, for my ps2 version. I got it used so I got no cover, this fixes it.

How about a program to replace the busted controls? Or at the very least, classic controller support.

Oh dear. I totally hadn't processed that the IGN mark was on the _printed boxart_ for the game. I thought it was just on some images Capcom had released. That's ridiculous.

They should have made mini posters of these and sold them as well.

I own the PS2 version day 1, but I am not sure about a Wiimake, considering I do not have an HD TV and the new screen features do not matter much for me. I applied for the left boxart for my PS2 version, and it said I will get a confirmation e-mail, but I did not get it yet-

I'm curious on if BradyGames is going to do anything, since the logo is on the cover of their game guide right next to Ammy's nose.

What I'm wondering is if the most popular choice might reflect on future printings of the game. Assuming there is another printing...
