I am not even really a Metal Gear fan, and I can see it coming a mile away, no trailers or footage required - Snake dies in this game, period. The shocking end would be that Snake lives and simply retires or something. But his death is imminent, and we all know it! It won't stop everyone from buying and loving the game. Many men shall shed tears, that should be the subtitle of the game.

Hell yeah he's definitely dying... better go out with a bang (literally) really. And Kojima is tired now, so let him refresh with another series for once!

I think it just shows the tough times, and despair that a life filled with war can bring. This trailer is on the special edition DVD as well.

Kojima said that already several times, he never said he was gonna die but he said this is the last MGS with snake.

Yeah I doubt there are spoilers in it but I'll watch it anyway. Old Snake will probably die, but how do you kill a hero and not look like a jerk in the process? Have him go out in a blaze of glory? Have him die of natural causes (foxdie)?

This was probably Kojima's toughest decision ever. I can't wait to find out how it ends.

Where's the
'implied child rape'?

The only part I saw with a child in, it looked like it was a girl, and she was being held by her mother??

This is now getting ridiculous. I'm not trying to compare the storylines here but...

CoD4 messed with you... and I just know MGS4 will mess with a bunch of us!!!

We will play this with no significant others present!!!! We can't let them see us all teary eyed and then stoned faced at something else that happens in our lives!!!

HAHAHHAHAAAA

Konami - can i just get this game now .. yes in japonese.. I promise i won't tell anyone!!!

I wouldn't be suprised if it messed with us in a completely different way.

For example, we have all played and loved MGS2. If you haven't then know that the main protagonist of the game is not snake, but Raiden. The trailers and gameplay videos before the release showed snake, however, the actual game was about raiden. The same thing happend in 3 when you say, "I like MGS2" and it's opening cinematic is with "Jack" and not snake.

Kojima will do anything he wants to do, so I would take all this suicide stuff with a grain of salt.

You all know how Kojima is when it comes to the Metal Gear Series, do you seriously believe he's gonna tell you how it REALLY ends?

The "spoiler" looks more like the beginning of the game to me. He was probably going to do that, but decided to do something worthwhile instead (and most likely meet the same end).

I'm pretty sure that would be a bad way to end this series.

Snake has do die and it is certain that he will die. The question is how exactly will he die.

The real story has to do with how Snake will actually prevent the entire saga from happenning again. To stop the cloning project of the Patriots once and for all. Everything tragic that happenned was the result of Snake. The enemies are Snake and the allies are all Snake in the MGS universe.

I actually hope there is an end to the story in MGS4. Maybe everyone on Earth will die and the last scene will show a Snake clone in a incubation tube waking up.

Well IMO he needs to die ... give the guy a much needed rest . I wish though he wouldent die by his own hands rather in a pathetic way , like shot in the back ;)

Honestly I think that the story is going to be a culmination of the other 3 main metal gear solid plots. Those plots being "Meme, Gene, and Scene." Hideo Kojima will probably tackle all of these topics and place them in a finalized category of plot.
On the death topic, I agree with cenobia. In fact I think that cenobia is right. The scene shows snake in the graveyard were Campbell makes his grand entrance with a helicopter. Campbell briefs snake there on the impending mission, signifying the beginning of his mission.
One other thing to take into consideration is what happens to successors in the Metal Gear series... They are all killed by those who are to succeed them: Boss/Big Boss, Big Boss/Snake, Snake/Gray Fox, Raiden/Solidus.
I would put money that this is going to be played in the story. I dont want to see it, but it shouldnt be looked over. Im preparing my lower lip for a good bite down.
