Fight before he pulls the trigger...he hears...'MMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO' and a giant cow-like robot on two legs starts to attack him! and he defends the world from...wait a sec. I was trying to make a joke-insult. There really are cow-monsters on two legs the try to attack snake aren't there?
*Sigh* nevermind. I'll think if another smart-ass comment.

what it really means is featuring exclusively Snake.

Anyhoo.............sorry about that irrelavant stuff.
Jesus some people...
My condolences Wicker.
They tell you to "snap out of it" because its the only option you really have. Trust me, take it from someone who has depression problems as well. Medication sucked, therapy was useless, nothing worked. The only thing that got me out of it, was to "snap out of it".
It's really the best advice they can give.
Yeah, I agree with you on that. It's the only thing that worked for me as well. Sometimes you just have to tell yourself to cut the crap and feel better! Make a couple little changes in your life to help yourself and just go on with it.
Before I got it, I felt the same as you, had little to no sympathy for those that committed suicide.
But depression can really cloud your way of thinking, make you think things you never would when your not depressed.
You just wouldn't understand so just STFU okay?
Don't be so short-sighted and insensitive. Suicide also has a strong impact on the friends, family, and even causal acquaintances of the deceased. So don't think that just because you haven't had to deal with it that it's no big deal.
But comfort yourself with the fact that this is a Kojima trailer, and therefore it's entirely possible-- likely, even-- that this won't be part of the final game at all.
(Related: forcing the player to pull the trigger, a la the end of The Boss fight in MGS3, would be the single most horrifying act in all of video gaming. So it's probably going to happen.)
Suicide is for people of weak heart and who act on impulse.. I've been soo down in shit, and even though i hate Suicide, the thought *did* cross my mind.. But, then again I just thought of my parents, friends and family.. Would I leave them just for some stupid reason?
Hell no.. I would never do that..
But this does make sense in this game - What does Snake have?? Does he have a family? Does he love so ddeply so that she can become a reason for him to stay alive? AFAIK, Snake is this man, who just cant get love.. So, why the fuck would he stay alive? Just to serve stupid missions again and again for the government? Hell no, he would'nt.. So, he's like fuck ya all! - See ya in Hell! *BHOOOF*
Supposed to be "Does he love someone so deeply that she can become a reason for him to survive?"
For people who really have depression, and are suicidal, but are recovering, every day is a struggle. It's not a quick 123 thing to fix it.
Furthermore, you say "how hard is it to know you're depressed and go see a shrink." For a lot of people, they don't realize their depressed until it's too late, and they're no longer in control.
If you've never been through it yourself, you'd never understand.
If you truly have such hate in your heart that you don't pity those who have ended their own lives, but REVERE in their passing as garbage lives and laugh at them, you have your own problems. Seriously, get help, or grow up.
Enuff said...if you can't handle the heat then thats your problem.
I know a lot of you people think you've been "depressed", but you've been depressed in the emotional sense. You were a bit down. You did not have a mental illness that makes every single day and every single task within that day a continuous struggle, you have not had to deal with crippling fatigue, headaches, insomnia, changes in appetite, loss of immune system function, and any other of the many symptoms of actual clincal depression.
Until you have, Binando, refrain from making such ill-informed posts which could actually make people suffering from a real illness even worse.
You are a child. You know nothing about the world. This is obvious from the things you say.

Why is this such a big deal? God forbid games should develop into a mature and sophisticated art like cinema. At least people like Kojima are trying to portray the possible consequences of a life of violence and not overly sterilize it.
By the way, holy shit do these trailers get me pumped.

That's a really good point... But the answer is mainstream still looks at video games as being child toys. Look at the whole debacle with Mass Effect. If video games were viewed differently that would have never made the news. But people that didn't grow up in the Age of video games have no concept of them except that their children play them.
Video games are more mature now then ever. You couldn't even try to depict this kind of imagery on a Nintendo or Sega. But since technology has been growing the line between video games and real life has become entirely close. My Aunte came over my house two weeks ago and watch me play NBA 2K8 for 5 mins and thought it was real until I pressed start.
And the Metal Gear Solid series has always been more of a movie than a game video to me (you know with the 45 min cutsense and all)
The childhood trauma is most likely referring to either Otacon, one of the beasts, or Sunny. If its Sunny, I doubt it's "child rape," either.

So doubt it's that, that part of the story was pretty much dealt with in MGS2.

Really hope that the scene at the end isn't a scene FROM the end, after nearly everything got spoilt in the MGS3 trailers I hope they haven't done it again.

Snake killed himself.
I want to be cool.
Goodbye.

This is content aimed at adults and I think it should therefore be allowed to delve into adult topics such as this. It makes for a very powerful story, I'm sure.

In fact, he wants to split the cost of the PS3 with me so thats one reason for me to get a PS3 instead of 360 next month : )
But I still like the 360 and would get it in a heartbeat if I had more money and time to dedicate to gaming, the latter decreasing day by day. : (
Also he wants to play the next game from Team ICO, loved Shadow of the Colossus.

Its ridiculous to buy a console because of one game of course but there's way more nice things that warrant my purchase of it.
My bro actually bought and returned a Gamecube just to play Twin Snakes. : D

Though I literally posted an ellipsis on the original article about this... here's an actual response this time from one of Joystiq's biggest MGS fans(obviously):
*ahem*
I seriously doubt there's physical child rape in this game. NDA or not, It would've been reported already - especially by those who got a chance to play through the entire game during Konami's mini-press event playtest. Financially speaking, false talk like this is slanderously bad and I wouldn't be surprised if legal action was eventually taken. Yes, the series did previously have scenes featuring child soldiers and violence. In MGS:PORTABLE OPS, the adolescent Frank Jaeger(aka Null/Grey Fox)literally runs by with a slash of a machete into an enemy soldier. In MGS2, a teen Emma Emmerich gets fatally stabbed by Vamp(and it is also possible to be killed while escorting her to safety prior to that). Even Raiden/Jack as a child soldier in that same game is seen holding an AK-47 and melodramatically goes on a rant about the turbulent child life he endured. The game's rated M for Mature, for a reason. Given all the flack AO(Adults Only)games get from press/"concerned" parents, it's highly doubtful Konami/Koji'Pro would slash their profits from the game just to feature anything beyond that and risk AO rating.
As for the suicide attempt, I don't know about the rest of you; but I've seen more disturbing stuff in SILENT HILL or ETERNAL DARKNESS than anything in the MGS series. Yes, there was violent torture and the protagonist's eye being rendered a bloody mess due to muzzle flash(I doubt the bullet actually hit his eye, given the angle)in MGS3. MGS3 also had nearly all of their boss characters commit suicide by self-detonated explosion. Yes, two of the characters were shot in the head in MGS2; and others shot and easily seen in cutscenes. In MGS1, Revolver Ocelot got his damn hand chopped clean off. In MGS:PO, Snake gets a crippled man's prosthetic "gun leg" jabbed into his crotch as a form of torture. The series' brief sexual scenes didn't go beyond kissing while both characters still had ample clothing(MGS3). MGS games have had their fair share of violence, there's no doubt there... But nothing Hollywood, books, real life, or even the effin' Bible hasn't been on equal violence level of. Art imitates life, you know?
Parents, do your damn job and just don't let kids read/view stuff that's obviously beyond their maturity level.

*How did that woman stay looking so pretty and well-kept in the middle of battle, in the desert.
