Because I don't have a PS3 yet I'm asking this.
With a PSN account, can you access other region stores and download their content or would you have to create separate accounts?
Could you also buy the other store's content?
brisknrocket @ Apr 24th 2008 6:02PM
You have to make a separate account for each region. And yes, you can buy their content.
Vidikron (FU) @ Apr 24th 2008 6:03PM
You have to create a new account, but it's easy to do.
Buying is bit tricky, but possible. When entering your payment information it won't let you change the country you selected for that user, so credit cards and the like typically won't work. I used something called a Wirecard which is like a virtual Master Card to purchase content from the Japanese PSN store. Once they release the PSN cards it should be easy to buy content in any store.

I'm going to attempt to make a Japanese account because I HAVE to try the Siren demo.

I bought a PSN yen card off Ebay. I still need to buy Dark Mist.

Here's hoping it hits domestic shores intact... and devoid of bad translation.

if it's the same echochrome demo that was released in japan, it was really cool. for $10 this game'll be a steal.
klitorisaurus @ Apr 24th 2008 6:05PM
Echochrome is fun... now I want the full game damnit.
PojoMofo @ Apr 24th 2008 6:13PM
Man, too much PS3 goodness, I have to get echchrome demo AND the new COD4 map pack. And the Resistence 2 trailer is out!!! My family will not be happy with me tonight, oh well, jsut a prequel for the 29th
gore on the floor @ Apr 24th 2008 6:26PM
That was absolutely the shortest demo I've ever played.
gore on the floor @ Apr 24th 2008 6:29PM
But very nice.
thesimplicity @ Apr 24th 2008 6:31PM
Is the Echochrome demo a PS3 demo, or PSP demo? I remember reading that it was for both consoles, but maybe that's changed...
cc123 @ Apr 24th 2008 7:41PM
It's for both.
The japanese store had a demo for each and according to the list up top there is a demo for each in the US now too.
Thr3e2wenty8 @ Apr 24th 2008 6:33PM
Endochrome - my old man is gonna freak when I show him this. He used to hate how I was into video games as a kid but now whenever he comes by is asking me what new rockband content I have, he digs the concept of Folding@home, and since being an artist will get a HUGE M.C. Escher-type kick outta Endochrome and it's simplicity/philosophy.
and there is no doubt that I will throwdown for the COD4 maps although I accept the fact I may not like playing on them all.
PSN: KillaKornbread (the shirt is a lie!) @ Apr 24th 2008 11:51PM
it's Echochrome not Endochrome. just thought you should know lol.
Thr3e2wenty8 @ Apr 24th 2008 6:35PM
the PSP demo came out a while back in Japan. The writing is in Japanese but the "Great!" and "OOPS!" are in english.
rip @ Apr 24th 2008 8:24PM
Eh, where the hell is the PixelJunk Monsters add-on????
John McPoop @ Apr 24th 2008 8:47PM
That game is damn hard for something so simple in nature ... vary fun game ... it needs some sort of multiplayer aspect ... maybe a versus mode or a co-op mode
Courtney @ Apr 24th 2008 10:32PM
@McPoop - Pixeljunk Monsters does have a 2 player co-op mode, my wife and I played it that way (I also can't wait for the expansion to it).
John McPoop @ Apr 24th 2008 8:45PM
Sony has done some really cool things with the PSN & PSP ... Patapon is an amazing game like nothing I have ever played and the same goes for Echnochrome ... Another great PSN game is Pixel Junk Monsters ... These games are nothing revolutionary but they do show some creative aspects of game design mostly absent in todays age of WW II shooters, re-used franchises, mini games packaged at full retail price, sports games with little more than a roster update and horrible movie based games.
Courtney @ Apr 24th 2008 10:33PM
Just got done playing around with the Echocrhome demo, now I'm really psyched for it. They don't seem to have *quite* got the Escher perspective down perfectly, but it's damn close and and a lot of fun to play around with.
Dave @ Apr 25th 2008 1:28AM
COD4 maps FTW!
