Admittedly, it's absurd we're doing a post like this a year and a half after launch, but there's going to be a big Wii shipment at Toys R Us this Sunday. Just in case Wii Fit does cause another sustained Wii shortage, if you're planning on getting the console in the next six months, it's best to get one while the gettin' is good.
To guarantee a Wii this Sunday at Toys R Us, customers need to stop by their local store and put down a $200 deposit. The five stores we called were accepting pre-orders for about 50 systems. Meanwhile, two of the stores asked why we wanted the pre-order details when they have them in stock?

I stopped reading his post at Nintendonalds. I'm ashamed to have even replied to the comment.

You guys are ridiculous. So what if Curmeo 2.0 uses Nintendonalds or M$. They are just words, and he is expressing his opinion. Whether you agree with him or not is irrelevant. He brings up some valid points. Here is a suggestion, try not to let petty little words get to you so much. You will live a happier life.

Due to the "Dr. Seuss" inspired font, the red box mentioning the larger amount of consoles in store is more hilarious to me than it should be.

Speaking of red boxes, where are our colored Wii units? I mean the DS took less than a year, and the same for the DS lite. Granted, I have all the original colors since I bought them all at launch.

"Everyone, to Toys 'R' Us!
They have 50 Wiis!!"
It's good when you release consoles when a big game hits. Then people can actually play your game!

Attn Wii sheep!
360's waggle is going to take Wii's waggle to school. Just wait until Banjo 3 w/waggle debuts! You heard it hear first, I have an insider tip. As GTAIV's Niko sais, "things will be different."

As has been mentioned earlier, my company sends 40% of the 1.8 million Wiis produced a month to North America alone. In the European and Asian territories, the Wii has been on shelves for quite some time. You can easily walk into any store in Japan or the UK or Ireland or wherever and purchase a Wii. There is enough supply to satiate demand, yet the Wii is still the top selling console in those regions. That means that there are a lack of Wiis in North America, specifically the US, simply because Americans want it more than other nations.

I'm going to step out of character for a moment. I think I made a mistake coming back and posting on Joystiq again. I left because I had been sucked into the rabble-rousing and now I am doing the same thing again. I can't help it. It's infectious. I may have to take another leave of absence less I go on some wild posting rampage.

uh... no. the reason why the U.S. gets less Wii's is the weakened U.S. dollar. Nintendo makes more profit selling the system in Europe and Asia.
its that simple, but yet fanboys love conspiracies
