Metal Gear Online beta now live for all territories

Quick! Boot up your Metal Gear Online beta, download that one final patch (it doesn't take too long, we promise) and report for duty. The highly anticipated demo just went live a little earlier than expected (delay notwithstanding) for all territories. You'll need to create a character (fyi: you won't be able to change your name, face, or 'voice') and pick your initial skill set before firing up a match. After a couple unsuccessful attempts, we got into one but conveniently had no idea what to do so we're going to recommend you spend some time training.

Want to play some MGO with your pals at Joystiq? Leave your character name in the comments. To add someone to your MGO-specific friend list select "Personal Data," then "Player Search," enter their name and select "Add to Friend List."

I would say something about how all the hype killed MGO as everybody zerged Konami servers, but I'd get downvoted to hell and accused of trolling by SDF.Even though I my response would be making a genuine point.

Hell, that's what happened with my VirtualConsole(Phantasy Star III I think) comment.

It's not a bad game, it's just that if you have the same expectations for this game as you would for MGS4, you're going to be disappointed.

It's pretty good, but yeah, nothing amazing. As a MGS game, it suffers from the fact that your enemies aren't all blind morons, but actually real people.

Also, there's only two levels in the Beta, which sucks.

I dont know if gamestop still has preorders. But you can go, preorder, pay the 5 bucks and then cancel and get your five bucks after, or put it towards the bundle.

Or go on Ebay. i think that there is someone selling theirs.

In New York. Many people don't like the beta? Don't play. Could be the MGS fanboy in me, but i LOVE it. I suck, but i love it. Since i'm not sure what name they use, here ya go guys:
