Once the full game arrives on September 5, you'll be able to import in all your created beasts. Until then, they're a perfect way to see if friends and family love you enough to feign interest in the computer animal you made.

They should have released the creature editor as a demo for the game itself, and make it free. This would give players an opportunity to experience the strength behind this game, and it would encourage them to buy the full game once they've created an armada of wacky animals they could import into the full game.
Why make a demo of a demo that has a price associated with it?
However depending on how good they make the console version I may just play the demo on my notebook and just get the full game on my 360...
Glad to see that this game still exists. It looks majorly awesome.

THE PRICE OF AN OBJECT IS WHAT PEOPLE WILL PAY FOR IT.
If you don't want it, DON'T PAY FOR IT.
Sounds like EA are trying to one-up GT5-prologue.

I can wait three months to get the rest of the creature editor features.
Are you referring to the Wal*mart deal with GT5P & Logitech wheel? x_o?
Are they crazy?
Oh it's EA... that explains that.

*I* paid the $10 preorder because I want it and it's the right price. I'll definitely be spending more time on the editor than playing a tired remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake.

That said, I'll just try out the demo. We've waited this long for Spore already; I think we can wait until September.

I view this as a very smart move. Not from a business point of view, but because the whole point of Spore is that it pulls all of its creatures that inhabit the worlds from the internet database. By releasing the creator in June, they ensure that people will have a massive amount of content to stream into their game when it comes out.
In summary - you're doing the creature programming for them.

The point of paying a measly $10 (Less expensive than a DVD) is that you will be able to make a ton of creatures ahead of time so when the game comes out you will be able to focus solely on playing and evolving them.
It's a brilliant idea, and if $10 is enough to make you whine and moan, then I don't really know what to say to you.
