Valve's Lombardi: No Portal 2 in 2008
Lombardi expressed Valve's desire to create an equally "revolutionary" successor to the lightning-in-a-bottle first person puzzler, rather than cash in on the franchise at the height of its popularity with a quick and dirty sequel. Oh, Lomby, can't we have both? We're all about instant gratification -- especially gratification involving cake, and a particular silent, springheeled heroine.

Then Portal will live for a long time

The only user-made one I got was this map by Bethdesa (makers of Oblivion) - it was very clever, hence why I still haven't completed it.

I love Portal but they don't want to turn it into another sequel milking panda cow. Portal 1 and everything around it was done perfectly. We don't need a sequel this early. Just more maps.
Dare I say don't make a sequel. Just bring us something else fresh and fun to play in a few years.

That's a little old compared to other sites.
Anyway Portal shouldn't have a sequel. The amount of hype is ruining this game to the point where we have a bunch of Valve-tards speculating if there's going to be a Portal Gun in Ep3.Say No to Portal!

My eyes slipped and I read that line as "gratification involving heroin"--obviously a hidden message. I believe the true meaning of this "hidden" message is up to the speculation of Joystiq readers.
