While I can't say if the numbers are real or not, I'll pretend to the sake of this post that they are.

1) That's a lot of Pokemon sold
2) I wonder who's keeping track of DLC sold, I'm actually interested in this one
3) More people bought the Taipei-ish game than Dr. Mario?

Picture me surprised.

A lot of people want a legitimate Mew, apparently.

The Pokemon numbers will be big here in the US as well. A lot of Pokemon players want a Pokemon Box-type thing for the DS games... I have no idea who wants to keep their Pokemon in a ranch and walk around with them.. I'm glad I don't know that.

Tons of people would love to be with their Pokemon.

Especially for a lot of those who consider Pokemon as one of their biggest hobbies in existence... they would want nothing more than to own a real-life Pokemon. And for those who would want that, they would want any game that allows you to interact with them in any shape or form.

Not really that much of a surprise really.

I guess so. I'm more than content with just seeing them in 3D, but to each his own.
