EA announces BattleForge collectible trading card game for Fall '08
EA announced today that its German studio, EA Phenomic, is working on Battleforge, a "fantasy online real-time strategy ... collectible trading card" game. The game will release this fall and allow players to win, trade and buy virtual cards to create the "ultimate deck."
Basically, it sounds like Magic: The Gathering (but totally virtual) at the moment. We'll have to wait and see what the price details are for Battleforg -- not to mention its micro transaction details, if any.

That table is creeping me out - I had a roommate in college that was that obsessed with Magic. He couldn't even talk to people about other topics and blew all of his money on it.
Very creepy.

He probably had aspergers if he's that crazy, it makes you like one thing at an insane level, you constantly think about it, not that I have, it but I've met and seen people with, it. the guy who made pokemon had aspergers, and he loved insects which is what pokemon came from.

Based on EA's earlier Battlefield model you'll be able to pick up the game for $60, cards allowing you to win all the time will retail for $100 each, and the game will also support leaderboards, where you can automatically have your total wins score increased by 10 for every $100.

Well there is Magic the gathering online...which is the same principle as this "battleforge" game is talking about. So its not so exclusive after all.

The collector in me wants to slap whoever put rubber bands on their cards.

I'm right there with you! I couldn't identify any really valuable cards, but that Isochron Scepter used to be worth a couple bucks at least.

So...this is called PoxNora?
Or will it be an actual card game? Because if its the latter, I'm in. But if its the former (I hate 'real time strategy' games) I don't care and would play PoxNora if I did.

Which part is "Electronic"?
Though I guess they gave up on "Arts" a long time ago.
