We've gotten reports from several of you that the Rockstar Social Club, the company's online hub for leaderboards and stat tracking, is down for the count. Though we haven't been able to access it, Rockstar PR tells us that the site was up earlier in the day. Apparently a few people have been trying to log on. We can't imagine why.
This sounds like we're all gonna need persistence or patience if we want to join the club today. Luckily, we imagine that several of you have a certain new game filled with certain new hookers to beat and certain new innocents to indiscriminately kill to help you pass the time.
[Update: All's well now.]

Unfortunately, I do not have that "certain game" because of the ESRB and the law.

If you're under 17, as well it should be. It's up to your parents to decide whether you can play. You're not banned from PLAYING. You're banned from BUYING without parental supervision.

Yeah, well unfortunately my parents are partial Christian extremists, so I'll have to wait 3 more years to get my hands on this game.

Hopefully my friend will get it, then I can play it at his house.
And why is it good? I'm much more mature than the common idiots that you encounter on Live.

You have good parents, be grateful they care about you. Guess what, when you have your own kids one day you won't let them play GTA till their old enough either

I know I'll be thankful for it later, but right now I'll pout about it. :(

Forget the site being down. It would be nice if I could use the site when it is up.
When I try to access the stats portion of the site it says my XBox Live account isn't connected. Even though the site seems to think it is already connected to the XBox account (as it should be) when I try to reconnect it.

In 1988, the crime rate in the United States rises four hundred percent. The once-great city of New York becomes the one maximum-security prison for the entire country. A fifty-foot containment wall is erected along the New Jersey shoreline, across the Harlem river, and down along the Brooklyn shoreline. It completely surrounds Manhattan Island. All bridges and waterways are mined. The United States Police Force, like an army, is encamped around the island. There are no guards inside the prison: only prisoners and the worlds they have made.

I can link my Xbox Live gamertag fine. However, my PSN ID is another story.

Im up and linked with my Live id, but there's really not much content there unless you've finished the game I suppose.
It's not like the Bungie-Halo website which shows you all these cool screenshots and stats.
