Shacknews sees Duke Nukem Forever ... the game ... really
Some of the Shacknews crew are one small evolutionary step away from people who swear they've seen UFOs, the Virgin Mary in their toast, or Elvis at the laundromat. They've seen Duke Nukem Forever. No, we don't mean the underwhelming teaser they dropped last year or, well, that's about all we've seen in the last half-decade; we're talking about the actual game actually running on a modern computer.
They "witnessed several different DNF gameplay scenarios, mechanics, and environments being demonstrated ... including environmental puzzles and interactivity, a host of finished weapons, the existence of an in-game forklift, and plenty of heads and arms being blown off." For those skeptics out there disinclined to believe the existence of such nonsense, we point you towards the following comment by one Mr. George Broussard from developer 3D Realms, posting under the name GeorgeB3DR: "... out of the blue I just decided to show them DNF for about an hour ..."
... right, and we imagine they were also abducted "out of the blue" by a piece of toast with Elvis' face on it right after that. Duke Nukem Forever exists indeed.

Waterworld... What a bad movie, Nonetheless that's an awesome picture.
PojoMofo @ Apr 29th 2008 2:36PM
I think it is fitting given the topic...

Hey, the concept of Waterworld was kickass!
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Apr 30th 2008 4:38AM
Wasn't Waterworld based off Mad Max?
Superstar90 @ Apr 29th 2008 2:41PM
This game will be the next Daikatana. You heard it here first!
Ok, probably not first, but you heard it here anyways.
Marty @ Apr 29th 2008 2:52PM
I'm surprised anyone here even remembers Daikatana!
DangerMouse @ Apr 29th 2008 2:58PM
It's remembered for all the wrong reasons.
Tiptup300 @ Apr 29th 2008 3:24PM
It didn't own me.
Tim The Enchanter @ Apr 29th 2008 4:01PM
Nor was I made Romero's bitch. Quite the contrary, actually...
Mr.ESC @ Apr 29th 2008 4:02PM
It supposed to make us Romero's bitches...it didn't.
It turn us into angry pimps, mad and angry pimps!
(Yeah I'm out of 1up granted references here so c'mon vote me up,be cool)
DangerMouse @ Apr 29th 2008 4:22PM
I remember picking it up for the hell of it years ago for 5 bucks. The guy at the counter said, "Are you sure this is the game you're looking for?". The game wasn't the worse i'd ever played, but it wasn't even close to the hype. I got pretty far, then i think i got stuck somewhere and never played it again.
Rocketboy @ Apr 29th 2008 4:45PM
Hey, you can play it for free on Gametap... I dare you to keep playing after the 2nd mutant frog, or the 2nd gun turret.
Roto13 @ Apr 29th 2008 2:45PM
I find it hard to believe. :P
MuToiD_MaN @ Apr 29th 2008 2:51PM
Habeeb it.
Mr.ESC @ Apr 29th 2008 4:05PM

(Out of topic what's up with the ads, suddenly when I was about to post a comment the whole scrren turned black,I thought my computer had something wrong but it was an ad of something.I don't know what was it since I close it A.S.A.P)
FOXHOUND @ Apr 29th 2008 2:58PM
damn, I'm out of skeptical sauce for my sandwich. :\
Ixistant @ Apr 29th 2008 2:59PM
Remember, Team Fortress 2 was in development for 9 years and was called vapourware. Perhaps DNF has gone through a similar design process, and will be just as good as TF2 (although hopefully with less lag).
Ah, who am I kidding? This game will be released when Australia becomes a British colony again.
Einhanderkiller @ Apr 29th 2008 5:35PM
TF2 is laggy?
Ixistant @ Apr 29th 2008 6:27PM
On the 360 over a wireless connection, yeah it is!
DSeaver @ Apr 29th 2008 3:00PM
I bet you DNF will come bundled with "Chinese Democracy" by Guns and Roses
Cian @ Apr 29th 2008 5:19PM
Yeah that's probably the official soundtrack.
XGM @ Apr 29th 2008 6:25PM
Except one of them has some leaked versions... And its not the one we want
theturtle363 @ Apr 29th 2008 3:00PM
Is that a cigar? How the hell did he get a cigar?
Quote the Raven @ Apr 29th 2008 3:01PM
This might need a new word to be attributed to it. I mean what do you call something that was obviously vaporware, become something real? Then again, it isn't out yet is it? Well I hope it does! Here's to Duke Nukem (it's taking) Forever!
theturtle363 @ Apr 29th 2008 3:05PM
Maybe condesnaware?
Ben Dejo @ Apr 29th 2008 3:18PM
Ive seen Duke Nukem and Ill take you there.
You're going the wrong way!!!
Donald @ Apr 29th 2008 3:34PM
11 years ago today.
The acronym "DNF" is so apropos...
Corbo @ Apr 29th 2008 3:53PM
I had a go on Duke Nukem Forever once. Lord Lucan had got his hands on a copy from some time travelling aliens and we managed to get into the online mode.
There was only one server with two guys in it. 3lvis was pretty good but Sh3rg4r played like he couldn't even work a keyboard and mouse.
Hashbrown Hunter @ Apr 29th 2008 3:57PM
*shocked*
Mr.ESC @ Apr 29th 2008 4:07PM
Can we see the pictures out of focus he took?
Fullmetal Salchemist @ Apr 29th 2008 4:34PM
I for one hope Duke Nukem Forever never gets made. It's become something of an inside joke with gamers. Something websites mention and we all giggle (especially those of us old enough to remember when the game was first announced). If the game ever does get released, it's pretty much guaranteed that it won't live up to 10+ years of expectations, and it will simply fade out of our memory.
chispito @ Apr 29th 2008 5:20PM
Nobody wants this game.
Travis @ Apr 29th 2008 5:21PM
I smell IGN's next perfect 10
Max Headroom @ Apr 29th 2008 5:49PM
It has "an in-game forklift"?? I'm sold!
t_m @ May 1st 2008 10:47PM
In game forklifts are the new Giant Mutant Crabs!
Mr Khan @ Apr 29th 2008 8:00PM

I'm more shocked that Shacknews still exists...
Frankenstein Black @ Apr 30th 2008 4:19PM
