Electronic Arts has unveiled an assortment of reportedly in-game Madden 09 screenshots. The snapshots include almost catching the ball, almost avoiding a tackle, almost making a tackle and other-in process moments that will make you ... what's this? Wow, we've lost our train of thought staring at this gorgeous mustache in front of our eyes. We offer no explanation for our fixation. Check out the gallery.

It's funny to see everyone complain about Madden but then it goes out and sells Millions of copies. I've been playing Madden since 95 and I will be the first to admit that Madden has become sort of bland, but last year I thought they did a great job (besides the whole 30 frames per second thing). But be realistic guys, there is no sports game that adds brand new features and gameplay updates and all that other crap every year. Even my favorite basketball game (NBA 2K8) has been almost the same since its days on the PS2. Everyone just gives Madden crap because it’s made by EA and it sells like hot cakes. But if anyone has been paying attention, they've added a butt load of feature last year and hopefully again this year. I still prefer college football over Madden any day, but Madden is always a fun addition. And finally, what other game with this kind of appeal has a one year development cycle...

i have an incredible urge to cut that grass ... ea, are you listening??? field mower 09, with microtransactions so you can buy the tractor attachments instead of earning them by simulating the summer season. with 4 achievements worth 250g each. pressed the a button, pressed the b button, pressed the x button, pressed the y button. the last one is a bit tricky.

I hope the critics don't hold back on reviews, games like Madden and even the Gran Turismo series, need a wake up call. Enough is enough already. Releasing the same garbage every year with new rosters. Gran Turismo still has no car damage! I think we're entitled to more by now.

i don't quite understand buying it year after year either. dude on my friends list bought '06, that's all he played til '07, THAT'S all he played til '08, well, you all see the pattern. the only other game he played was the bioshock DEMO.

don't get me wrong, football season rolls around and i get all twitterpated with football excitement, so i rent madden and college football, play it for a couple weeks, then i ya know, watch the football.

I really don't want to discuss this, because I don't care that much. However, I'll say a few things. First, at least they are doing it. Second, in order to get all those cars in the game, they have to come to agreements with the manufacturers. I don't think they would like the idea of people seeing their beautiful cars crushed. (They are weird like that) I am sure it took a lot of convincing to get this in place. And finally, everyone knows that Polyphony is made up of a bunch of perfectionists. I'm gonna leave it at that. The only reason I am saying anything is because it seems people these days get really upset about weird things, and I think that it is perhaps because they don't have all the info. :D

damn there's so much hatred for madden. if you don't like it, don't buy it. why does anyone care if "EA keeps pulling this shit", if you all can see so clearly, then avoid the mistake of $65 for an updated roster. maybe they dont change a lot because (wait for it)... they still sell millions of copies without fail. and if they changed too much, it might turn off the football-hungry fanbase.

what, exactly, would all of you suggest EA "innovate" for this year's madden?

for the record the only sports game i own is winning eleven.

In all honesty though, I bought the 2K series yearly, because I think it played the game at a faster speed, and it was an all-around better game. This was the first year I've thought about buying Madden, but since Brett Favre's on the cover, I don't think I can.

Yes, I'm refusing to buy a game based on the athlete on the cover because he was the QB of my divisional rival.

I was a loyal Madden fanboy until last year ... buying every Madden since 1995.

But for christ sake, enough is enough. DLC rosters is the best idea I've ever heard ... except EA will probably find a way to still dick consumers over. Charge more for the better players? Pay per player? I think I just got a job at EA ...

Yea, so many of u are such dorks and drones, following what everyone else loves to do, and, in this case, hate on Madden AND EA.
I'll admit that Madden has been my primary football game ever since I could actually get Madden money together. First played the original console Madden on the Genesis but I know it's fallen off, at times. I got into NFL Gamebreaker on the PS, for a couple seasons, instead of playing Madden as much AND even dabbled in the 2K series. Admittedly, I didn't even LIKE the first 2K game but I gave it a chance and years of dev. THEN liked it, after they improved on it.
Basically, what I'm saying hear is - STOP BEING EFFING STUPID ALL THE DAMN TIME, DORKS! HA! Do your own thinking, be objective (uhh, too big of a word for u??) and stop following what your clown friends and other dummies say just to be cool, cuz your not, dork. Enjoy your day!

Too true. EA is adding a great amount of new features this year, so everyone has decided to just bash the graphics (Of a game that is far from finished, mind you). Grow UP people. I almost hope that EA buys Take Two so the rest of you can just shut up about the 2K series already. It's dead, it's gone, Madden was better anyway.

EA adds new features to Madden every year. Whoopidy Doo! When it gets down to it there's only so much you can add to a football game. In the end it's still Football, but at least give us a new game engine. Every game generation. EA builds a Madden engine and lives off that engine for 5 to 7 years. Lazyass mofos!

After being a hardcore Madden fanboy from 1995-2005, then selling off the last three within a week of getting them because they were so awful I thought this was going to finally be the year where I was able to hold off altogether.

alot of u people need to research before opening your mouths. i loved the 2K series, but madden has gotten better. Not just features but graphics. And the last 2K allpro football really sucked. it was full of glitches. they didnt even try to fix. madden comes out each year trying to work on what u guys sit on ur asses and complain about. too bad u dont have the education to acually do something about it.
