OK Go, Jet, Daughtry in Guitar Hero: On Tour

If you've ever been enjoying the music of No Doubt or Twisted Sister and thought "Yes, this is good, but it's just not compressed enough for my tastes," you'll be happy to hear that they and 13 other bands were recently announced for the upcoming DS release Guitar Hero: On Tour.

Perhaps considering the popularity of the system outside of the hardcore, the song selections do seem a bit more ... mainstream than we've become accustomed to. But overall, they don't seem like bad picks. Check out the full list after the break and let us know what you think.

wow 15 songs, theyll all sound like ass due to the unbeliveable compression, and it comes with a really 'unique' add-on for 40 bucks?!?! where do I sign up!

I'll be betting that something a bit more fiddly and less mainstream will likely be added to the line up eventually. Every guitar hero has to have at least one overly challenging song.

And they could have at least tried to pick a better Blink-182 song.

Awww, if they were going have an OK Go song they need Here it Goes Again, just because of the awesome music video.

Wrong. Do What You Want is a WAY better song. Here It Goes Again is one of their most overrated songs. Listen to Invincible or Don't Ask Me, they're way better.

Yay! Daughtry....a watered down version of Creed...which is a watered down version of a mediocre rock band.

My wife bought the album, I thought it was decent actually.

He kind of sounds like Shinedown... I was listening to the radio a few days ago, and started to complain about all the rock bands sounding the same threedaysgrace/hinder/chevelle/nickelback/freakin' everything else.

Then a song comes on and I was like hey this is different. Then when the singing kicks in I realize it's Weezer and their new single.

They also made fun of Timbaland so that's +44 in my book (pun intended)

Yeup, Weezer still shines amongst the garbage on FM these days.

It's just too bad the masses embrace the "meh" (still better all the other music) stuff and not the truly amazing stuff.

Except the Blue Album. But you could say it was the music videos...

Smash Mouth??? Seriously? Hopefully the next version has some Avril Lavigne and Hilary Duff.

That was a good game, despite some of the more crappy music in it.

Oh yes, I love that game... but yeah, most of the music made me cringe... I do love September by Earth Wind and Fire though...

A few of those would be interesting for Rock Band DLC, but otherwise, meh.

Well at least she has a reason to dust off her DS again. But I doubt she will want to mess with the cumbersome attachment.

THOUGH it would be easier for a woman to fit that whole thing in her purse as opposed to a man in his pocket. Maybe that is the rational behind this.

Ok, there are a few good songs, But, Los Lonely boys? Smashmouth??? Maroon 5!?! Forget this! This is the crappiest set list imaginable.

Does that include the unlockables? I mean really? That's it. The cell phone version has more than that! And it wouldn't surprise me if all those songs are released as DLC for PS3 and 360 shortly after this version's release.

Most of those songs suck, but I'll buy it anyway for the eventual homebrew games.

Makes sense. This game is trying to appeal to more of the more mainstream gaming of now, who happen to be people that most likely own DS's and are a bit more of a casual gamer. Plus Guitar Hero already has name recognition. So loading it up with a bunch of more popular songs almost everyone has heard makes sense, it will appeal to a lot more people that way and score the demographic they want. I doubt they really are trying to play this over as an experience as intense and complex as the console Guitar Heroes.

I don't find much fault in the setlist, I enjoy the songs despite me never once believing that the songs are anything close to being what I would call good. Plus it has Jessie's Girl, which makes me laugh.

This set list looks horrible and lazy. Re-used Karaoke and GH songs.... put some effort into this folks.

The songlist isn't that promising, and there's stuff you can already get on Rock Band's DLC.

Even my great for OK Go isn't a warrant to make a sure purchase.

The only song I would want from this is the OK Go song.

Oh boy, GH3 repeats and songs I have in Rock Band. What fun.

They needed to make Wii-DS connectivity for this game, so you could trade songs between the 2 versions. That would make it awesome.

Also, I like these songs. I actually like Ok GO, Bloc Party and Maroon 5.
