After voting that I hadn't had any problems in the 360, I started playing, and the game froze. I had just completed Bull in a China Shop and the game froze on the cut scene with Vlad... I also have a 360 Elite.

@Fenix
Go drive onto the tarmac at the airport, automatic 4 stars. Try to escape it. I suggest knowing where the tunnels are.
@Everyone having freezing issues with 360:
This is what fixed it for me:
Exit GTA IV by going to dashboard.
Select the DVD-tray icon in the dashboard to boot up the game, as soon as it fades to black, hold LB and RB until you see the Rockstar logos then let go.
That should clear out your game cache (not HDD cache that holds patches and stuff). Again, this fixed the freezing issue in MY case, it could be different or it could be the same for you. Good luck!

@ Nato,
"Im sure nobody is going to click a vote for problems with the system they are fighting their personal war with....no, fanboys would never!
Anyway, I have it for the 360 with no problems. Yet when I inserted that disc into my PS3 it didn't work - WTF!?"
SO you have the PS3 version with no problems and your 360 version doesn't work?

@fenix -
You want to catch 6 stars AND the one man army achievement? It takes a while to do - I found it out by accident. From the last subway station on line 8, just start walking down the tracks. When you get halfway across the 'Brooklyn' bridge, your star rating goes to an automatic 6. Then just continue walking along the tracks. The cops will eventually come down into the tunnels after you, but by the time you've strolled along, you've had 6 stars for a LONG time.
And the CAD for today is perfect!

I've had only a few minor problems, such as the occasional crash, after loading, and the obvious problems with euphoria, by the way does anyone else find that they made the driving harder, I constantly spin out when tapping the Lb, oh yeah you can make Niko walk funny if you walk into the window out front the russian clothes shop, I just thought it was funny looking.
And this game has none to no problems and compared to many other games, it is very well tested, let us not remember Oblivion.

Aye, what, Oblivion had more bugs than pokemon, on top of that they took out the AI which made the game what it was gonna be, I don't see how you could not have noticed the constant freeze up, the Clavicus Vile quest freeze up, and all the other bugs that I have forgotten since along time ago.
Too the guy below the guy below my reply.
Yes indeed the controls do get better as you play, I've certainly got better, but my gripe is that easy driving was one of the coolest points in the previous GTA games, I loved being able to pull off turns with little to no effort, and the reasonthe driving is harder is because of the more realistic wheel physics they have physics for every wheel instead of the car itself, it's why pulling of two wheelers is so easy now.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Oblivion is the game of the decade. C'mon developers, just 2 more years left for you to TRY taking the crown from Oblivion... go on... I daaaare ya!

Not a chance Oblivion simply put is not the game of the decade, I wouldn't even place it as game of the year, it was just too bugy, and lacked freedom in almost all the places in which it had freedom, it fucked up way too, much, not enough people in the towns, not enough character to NPC interaction, not enough armor customization, a horrible interface, bad combat system, mostly on the tedious side, it just could not capture a realistic view of a fantasy world, they just limited the game far too much, IMO oblivion never even made it to game of the decade, there are too many good and better games out there, Gears of War, Resident Evil 4, Zelda Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash bros both, GTA IV, Vice City, and there are more I just can't think of anything, else, and do just say oh you know nothing about video games, well on the contrare, I may be one of the few people on this planet that actually consider video games a true form of art, and enjoy them much more thougroully than almost anyone else, Oh yeah the music in Oblivion was completely off aswell, they should have used seperate indoor outdoor wilderness tracks it screws with the mood, and Yes I played Oblivion to the end and yes in the short time I have owned oblivion I have clocked in 500+ hours that don't count all my constant deaths.

If you've put over 500 hours into Oblivion, the game must have done something right. There's not many games that can act as such an effective time-sink, and it's precisely because of that sheer variety and scope that it deserves the title "Game of the Decade". Personally, I've only put about 150 hours into it, so maybe your criticisms of such minute details are due to a condition known as "Cyrodil Fatigue"... it's like you've been living in a room with the same pin-stripe wallpaper for 20 years... eventually it's gonna get on your nerves.

not true I'm like that for like every game I play, I notice every minute detail on everything, no texture gone unnoticed no music file gone unheard, no advance graphic technique go un-analyzed which is why I am so critical of games, any games, and every game.
And no not game of the decade, the world lacked a high sense of immersion for player to NPC communication which is a massive flaw. also I spent alot of time running from guards due to ominscence AI and alot of times fighting the Demi god denizens of the many games long and boring ruins.

Just crunched some of the early numbers here and it looks like the 360 is having about a 13% error rate. That is probably pretty accurate since there are a few hundred respondents already. All of the PS3's are around 30% but that isn't a number I'd bank on. The of the low number of PS3 respondents aren't enough to really register an accurate sample.

No problems with my 360, and I was sweating bullets, too. This was a launch console that finally RROD'd last week that I fixed using the X-clamp fix. (Boy, was that chip nasty looking in there from the goop they'd used - btw, if your console is NOT covered by warranty, it's actually a quite easy fix.)

Posted: Apr 30th 2008 6:51PM (Unverified) said
you did that too? That's how I fixed mine and it was kicking ass for about a week. Then I couldn't figure out what else to do,so as a last resort I covered the gpu and cpu with a little bit of aluminum foil, put it in the oven(no really,I did but it was an electric oven)cooked that sucker for 20 mins in 450 degree heat, took it out,let it cool, and it hasnt failed me since.
And that was like 2 months ago.
So if anyone has a broken one,let me know cause I wanna c what else can fix these things.

I didn't have much problem getting the X-clamps off, once I pried the first corner loose. The big thing with the fix was to make sure that I only put a LITTLE bit of silver thermal paste onto the GPU and CPU ships. Also I only used 2 metal washers underneath instead of 3.
I have seen a couple of clipping errors, though. One while walking on the train tracks, there was a light pole sticking through them, and another where someone fell through a mailbox after I shot them.

On my 360 version, it froze on me when I was going to try on a hat for the first time. No other problems yet though, and I don't expect much more.

Only had two bugs (360):
- After playing Halo 3 in between sessions, it doesn't cache the data back in quick enough, producing the pop-in to the degree it was in GTA:VC.
- Had a bug where I could only run on the spot, couldn't actually go anywhere. Suicide/Rez didn't allieviate the problem, fixed with a reboot.

Technical how Joystiq?
Like I have the 360 version...DUH
But so far the only issue I have is really the camera and the controls being a lil wierd. Also when I go to the pause menu to review the controls it seems to change the layout without me pressing any of the buttons or moving the joystiq...
Other than that the disc works fine. No freezing or w/e...

I had issues, every 7 minutes or so the action on the screen would freeze while the sounds kept going, lasted about 10 seconds then resumed as normal. took it back and got a replacement. no problems after that.

Not only am I not having problems with the 360 version, it's arguably the cleanest 360 game I've played (in terms of how it runs). 9 hours in and no bugs, no glitches, no framerate drops and/or stutters, and absolutely 0 pop in so far.

If GH3 stands for "Guitar Hero 3", get GTA instead. Seriously, you will get far more enjoyment out of it than that Axe body-spray ad masquerading as a rhythm game.
