Activision told GamingNexus, and we've since confirmed, that the company will not be attending E3 this year. A representative for the company tells us that, after careful consideration, it will not participate in any official E3 activities this year.
The key word there is "official," which sounds to us like Activision will have a presence around the show, akin to Gamecock's EIEIO event last year. Though it's not ready to share exactly what the plans are, we'll certainly have more on this at a later date. Other notable companies missing from the current E3 list are: Blizzard/Sierra (which goes hand in hand with Activision now), Atlus, Majesco and NCsoft.
... oh, and if you're wondering what the picture above of Jamie Kennedy is all about, you missed one of the great disasters of E3 '07.

Please don't feed the Kennedy.
And no flash photography, please.

If more companies do this, maybe the old E3 will comeback. (Please?)

Everyone would say it, then they'd all pop up days before the event and say

Yeah, that was terrible last year. Which is a shame, because I think Jamie Kennedy used to be great....then he did "Son of the Mask"...and just never recoved.

Actually, you should check out Kickin' It Old School, it was decently funny. That and Bobby Lee is in it.
And he's coming up in another movie in which Michael Cera is starring in so at least that should be good.

FYI... here's the drive from Activision to Barker Hanger, where E3 was last year. Maybe they didn't want to drive the extra four miles to downtown, where it'll be this year...

I actually thought Jamie Kennedy had a little understated genius going on, even if his delivery was sloppy. The crowd turned on him because he was making fun of geeks -- and if there's anyone who can't take a joke, it's the fat, self-important gamer nerd demographic.

Jaime Kennedy was on a local radio station last week (ALICE) and he was complaining about how all those mean ol' videogame geeks ruined his gig at E3 last year.
Then, about a half-dozen of us called in and he eventually manned up to the fact that his performance blew.
