Several weeks ago, Diablo3.com, an independent fansite, posted a provocative countdown set to end today, May 1st. The site teased that today would be the day that "half the web" links to the domain ... well, let us save you the click. Of the two potential outcomes posed by WoW Insider, we get the far less interesting one: Blizzard has acquired the Diablo3.com domain from Roger Barr (aka "Mockery") who is transitioning his fansite to a new domain, more appropriately dubbed, Diablofans.com.
Currently, Diablo3.com redirects to Diablofans.com, but eventually it will redirect to Blizzard.com, and after that...? Mr. Mockery notes that Blizzard has reminded him that the acquisition of the domain is not an official announcement of Diablo III, but Mockery can't help but speculate that "this is a confirmation of sorts that they're working on the next Diablo game." True that.

I believe you mean to say that this is a confirmation that we'll see the actual confirmation for Diablo 3 in 2-5+ years.

fantasy, science fiction, and... fantasy are the only real genres gamers care about!

I would fully prepay for a preorder of Diablo 3 if I thought that it would make a difference. I couldn't be any more stoked about a game than I am for another Diablo.

True. Half the web will link to Diablo3.com -- but Umaro didn't just mean the fansite. From now on forward, everyone will be visiting Blizzard's Diablo3.com domain name awaiting to see any activity in their website after a game announcement is made.
Remember how many times Starcraft2.com was reloaded everyday, every month, every year just to see if anything changed?
People are sore for the two weeks countdown. Now they have to wait not only 13 days ... they have to wait 58 days until the Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals just to find out if a diablo game will be announced.
I remind the event ends on June 29 -- which is the magic date when Diablo II shipped on USA back on 2000, and the same date Lord of Destruction expansion shipped on "Europe" on 2001. Can't wait!

Who the hell is down voting anyone who plays PC whilst voting the retarded console fanboy up? PLUS, you people are on the fucking DIABLO 3 thread, why are you console fanbots on a PC franchise thread just to say that you hate computers.
Anyway...
The only thing wrong with PC gaming is piracy, that doesn't really matter if it's dealt with the right way, and if the game is good enough. Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 are going to sell like... things that sell lots!

It's good to hear they are finally thinking (if not already working) on Diablo 3, now just make sure there is a 360 version and everything will be fine.

Keep telling yourselves that PC fanboys as you march into extinction. BTW if you actually looked at the market you would see not only are more and more gamers adopting consoles as their platform of choice Devs are shifting away from PC (quite quickly actually).

I don't believe you understand Blizzard's M.O. Kujel. See, they're one of the extremely rare devs out there dedicated to making games on PC. I can only recall one game from blizzard being on consoles and that was Warcraft2 for ps1. So far as I know, it failed miserably, yet the PC version is still sold alongside and/or with Warcraft3.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a D3 on PS3 or 360(assuming they're still making games for those systems when D3 comes out), but chances are it'll go only to PC since Blizzard seems set on going down with the ship that is the PC.

At one time PC and console games were two completely separate creatures but those days are over, console controls have far surpassed PC controls. I can't think of a single game I'd rather play on PC then a console. I'm sure there will be a PC version but I'm also sure there will be a console version.

Well, if they allowed use of KB/M on a console port I see no reason it couldn't work just fine on consoles. In fact, I'd imagine it would be quite popular... especially on Live. But there's two problems. One, MS has been very hesitant to allow KB/M use in games up to this point. Without that, a game like Diablo just won't work as well. Second, Blizzard themselves have been very adamant about supporting the PC platform. They've basically laughed at the rumors of WoW going to consoles in the past. There is certainly money to be made in the console market, but if there's one PC game company that doesn't need to worry about that it's Blizzard.
I'll happily buy Diablo 3 for my PC... or anywhere else they choose to release it. In fact, if they did release it for both PC and the 360 (or next version of the Xbox) there's a good chance I'd buy it for both. I love the Diablo series that much.

Vidikron (FU) the only real problem with your thinking is that console controls are inferior to PC controls when it's the other way round.

Not really. I don't think either is really superior since different genres benefit more from different controls schemes. Also, PCs can use controllers and consoles can use KB/M. It's just up to developers to support the different input methods... or in this case, whether or not MS allows use of KB/M. Previous Diablo games definitely work better with KB/M with the way their inventory systems and such were set up. They might be able to create an efficient controller inpout scheme, bit IMO MS, and all consoles platform owners, should simply give a green light to KB/M across the board. Make controller schemes manadatory, but allow KB/M use to be added as seen fit by indiviudal developers.

So... you umm, think that FPS's are better to control on consoles eh, you just looovee Halo don't you.
Console FPS's have Autoaim to make up FOR THE BAD CONTROL METHOD.

Let me guess you are a visitor from 2020 and your PS6 with its super aweosme controllers and time travel mechanics allow you to go back in time to this era in particular to say BS,Am I right?
Seriously other than platformers Keyboard and Mouse FTW.

What's this??? PS3 and 360 fanboys make-up and unite against PC fanboys?
I agree with Mister Escape. But it really doesn't matter in this day and age. My PS3 controllers plug right into my PC and are instantly recognized as game controllers, and consoles are more like PC's than ever.
I always FPS'd with K&M on my PC, flight games I used a flight stick, fighting games I used a gamepad. I still do the same today. K&M is just way better for FPS (in my opinion). I've been playing UT3 on my PS3 with K&M... but when I play UT32D, I gotta use the controller. The freedom to make those choices is a great thing, and I can't understand the mentality of speaking out against freedoms.

Thinking about it, D3 on a console seems much more fun than on a PC, if they could make it as fun and hacky and slashy as God of War, then yeah, go consoles!

SonofSeth that wont be a challenge for today's consoles, they have a great set of hardware specs and Devs have learned how to make great control schemes. Diablo 3 on console will happen, just watch and see.

Also Kujel, you do realise that PC's are more powerful than consoles are right?

I always laugh my ass off at PC fangirls and how defensive they get when you point out the PC platform is dying and that a gamepad is far superior the keyboard and mouse, I only know one guy at work who thinks PCs are better and nearly everyone thinks he's gay (literally) what does that say about PC gamers. Wait correction there is one other but he only plays on PC because he can pirate all his games instead of paying for them, also console shooters don't have auto-aim unless you turn it on!

Hmm... Ok so are you just a troll or what.
Did you seriously just say that preferring a control method far more accurate with more buttons means you're somehow homosexual? Besides that are you just some backwards hick retarded homophobe? If he's gay, good for him, if he prefers computers, even better!
You can respond now but all that will acomplish is you flailing your immature words around, making you look even worse.
Have fun.
