PS3 is the home of the good games, something many have known for a long time. However many Americans are brainwashed into buying the inferior console (in both game quality and build quality) because it's "the American console".

lol fanboy. If you look at the amount of games between ps3 and 360 you will see there is twice as many games for the 360 then the ps3. That is the only reason the 360 has a lower percentage. So please stop with the fanboy crap.

And the disparity of Good games to bad games on the PS3 will most likely only INCREASE, the PS3's games the Playstation brand is known for have not even started. (hardly) Once the PS3's bread and butter AAA titles start to ship, the PS3's good game library will be even better than the rest.

This meant that the cartridge worked in the named hardware; it had nothing to do with the written quality of the software.

The current Official Nintendo Seal is explained as follows:

I own both systems (Wii doesn't count in my book), and I disagree whole heartedly. I count exactly 3 games on PS3 I would call "good". I've been disappointed by the majority I've owned or rented. I suppose you can boost the count by including cross platform games, but for me these find a home on my 360.

Agreed. PS3 has just started. The library will continue to grow good and well. This is the year of the PS3.

Oh, and BTW, last time I checked, PS3 got a better deal in regard to GTA IV.

And this is very misleading because people don't just go to EB and say give me ten random games in which case some are good and some are bad. They buy the specific good games, which if you actually do the math is

Xbox 360 - 97 Good Games
PS3 - 40 Good Games
Wii - 21 Good Games

And the PS3's collection of unreleased good games contains about 5, maybe 6. So go troll somewhere else.
And I'm not a 360 fanboy but when someone needs to be proved wrong you need comparison.

I don't know, looking at those figures, it looks like the 360 has about 97 good games compared to the PS3s 40. PS3 is the home of the good games? maybe but it's less than half the size of the 360's home.

of course everyone has bad games on their console, but you can't tell me that the psp has had more good games than bad. I haven't actually seen a game that I could see my self playing other than a couple of games, and when I say a couple, I mean seriously 2. and There have been some good games other than that for the ps3, but that have also come out for the xbox 360. I think this poll is stupid

lol yeah it's been really painful having to play console exclusive games like Mass Effect, Call of Duty 2, Condemned: Criminal Origins, Dead Rising, Forza 2, Gears of War, Crackdown, Lost Odyssey, the Project Gotham Racing series, Halo 3, etc. And I don't know how I'm going to be able to make myself play future exclusives like Infinite Undiscovery, Too Human, Fable 2, Alan Wake, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Gears of War 2. But I guess I'll just have to do it out of patriotic duty.

@Co

The Playstations 1st year on the market have very little games that show what the machine can do. Quality development and software takes time. Developers need time to wrap their heads around new hardware. The PS2 was "hard to develop for" and look how that turned out. The PS1 was said to be a bitch to program for also. The PS3? Developers are JUST GETTING the hang of it multicore processor and with games like GT5P, MGS4, we are seeing just the tip of the iceberg as to what the PS3 will be capable of.

The Wii, whether you like it or not, is a GameCube. Nintendo KNOWS how to get the most out of the system because it is the SAME hardware wise as the GC. How else do you explain MK, MG, MP3, SSB, coming out so quickly? They are virtually IDENTICAL to the GameCube in the way they look and play.

The only games that have made it out that the PS brand is known for are, GT, RaC, and the just released GTA4. The rest of the BIG AAA franchises have yet to show up. That is why I and others say that the PS3 is JUST GETTING STARTED.

What??????? Percentage does not change just cuz there are more games released for a certain console, thats stupid, example: if the Xbox 360 has 20 games and 10 of those are bad then that means that 50% of the games are bad, now if u say that PS3 has 10 games and 5 are bad is the same crap, 50% are Bad, ergo, Number of games release dont affect the outcome in percentage difference, you Idiot!

For those who don't realize it... or have grouped 'us' together with him; Tranando *doesn't* speak for all PS3 owners(or fans for that matter).

Having said that, is anyone truly amazed by these stats? Delays aside, here's what I've noticed in trend:

» Wii --- Take away the 1st party games and you're left with overwhelmingly lowered stats in the "good" column and "a shiz'load of shovelware". And yes, as someone mentioned earlier; this SHOULD be the easiest console to develop for, especially since it was confirmed yesterday on this site that Nintendo truly isn't looking for 1:1 motion control on their console.

» PS3 --- Of the ones rated "good", are enough of them exclusive? Do they take advantage of the hardware well enough? SIXAXIS/DUAL SHOCK3 usage? The 'larger' disc capacity? There is nothing wrong with making games multi-disc as long as it's utilized properly! PSP-to-PS3 interaction? Perhaps even printer support(for stat tracking, maps, etc.)? So much potential unrealized in the majority of the games on this console(and the Wii).
And yes, it *would* be nice to get HOME out to the public for game matchmaking...

» X360 --- Honestly, the XBOX 360's enjoying a much richer, diverse library than XBOX ever did; on the best established online community in the market with XBOX LIVE(PS3 is second, Wii is a distant third). I'm not a fan of the controller, but it isn't the worst I've ever used(that ignoble award goes to the DREAMCAST; despite my love for that console). However, I'm fairly certain that unless you're a fan of FPS'ish, Sports, or even T/M-rated action adventure games... you won't find too much favor in this console. I don't think RPGs, Puzzle, Simulations, or racing games are represented as well as it could be; due to the aforementioned XBL.

Nintendo doesn't lack quality control. These games sell to the majority of Wii owners, plain and simple. If Sony or Microsoft had these games on their platforms and they sold they wouldn't be stopping it. It's just how it works.

And even with a lot of crap, we still have Galaxy, Brawl, Kart, Zelda, Metroid 3 (all except maybe Kart are some of the most critically acclaimed games) on the Wii.

Nintendo is afraid or just doesnt know how to come out with a huge new IP for the hardcore gamer.

Microsoft and Sony know how to do those things and do them well. One of them was game of the year last year.

Yeah, Nintendo's afraid of new IPs, alright.

Animal Crossing, Advance Wars, Pikmin, Fire Emblem, Chibi-Robo, Custom Robo, Nintendogs, Brain Age, Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan, Trace Memory, Hotel Dusk, Endless Ocean, Disaster: Day of Crisis.

Yep, none of those are new at all.
(Although, four of them existed in Japan for a while before being released in America)

Am I going to deny Nintendo's dependence on their big names of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, and Pokémon? No, of course they depend on them. They have a lot of brand recognition. They make money. The reason they make money is because, generally, the series are full of quality (with a few misses here and there, like Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games).
But you can't ignore that Nintendo has many more franchises under its belt.

For those of you who say the PS2 had the same amount of shovelware as the Wii, you are wrong. The PS2 good games are 10% over the Wii's good games and the PS2's bad games are 10% UNDER the Wii's.

Wii roughly 40% of games are BAD
PS2 roughly 30% of games are BAD
Wii 11% of games are good
PS2 22% of games are good

So, there goes that arguement you guys have used over and over to justify the Wii's crap.
