@Markez

oh look here comes another wii fan upset that someone doesnt share their same opinion that waving their arms around and pretending to swing fake tennis rackets is considered next gen gaming.

Read my post again, or have your mom read it for you. The argument never came up over manliness by me, that was by Jody. My argument is that PCs/PS3's/360's have evolved from simple toys into the entertainment vehicle.

I would love for you to try to refute that.

The PS3 has some great exclusives ... Not to mention some great multiplatform titles ... What I think your tiny brain fails to compute is the 360 has been out a full year longer so the percentage of good games will be less due to a larger field of games to test from ... Understand?

LOL exactly.

It's like they keep telling us "the PS3 will be great when X game is released..."

Yet X, Y and Z game is released and nothing happens. It just trails behind.

Funniest recent one was "GTA4 will do better on PS3". LOL.

It'd be interesting to see this with PS2 added in there. The Wii is pretty much the PS2 of this generation - handful of great games, lots of shovelware.

But when you factor in the price of development for a PS3/360 AAA title you can see why there are so few, and why they score higher (I mean why spend loads on a crap game?).

Anyone could have predicted this. The Wii is cheap to develop for, any studio no matter the size can make any game they want regardless of how crap it is.

Also I wouldn't trade that 11%. Galaxy and Brawl have brought me the best gaming moments outside of the PC kingdom.

The problem with people like yourself and Fernando is you like to generalize the comments of a few fanboys to represent the entire ownership of said console ... in this case the PS3 ... I don't understand how you can have such contempt and malice towards the PS3 and it's owners ... It really shows your immaturity

Even a zealot like yourself wouldn't argue that the Wii is not an entertainment hub like the 360 & PS3 ... Actually I bet you would

So you equate consoles sales with quality?
Because the Wii has sold the most consoles means its the best console?

There are more Mustangs sold each year than Ferraris ... Does that mean the Mustang is better or more popular/affordable?

In your above post you mention how games x,y & z have come and gone on the PS3 ... As far as I have seen the only big exclusive that has dropped thus far been GT:P ... Last I saw it was already over a million copies sold ... By your logic that makes it a winner ...

How is GTA IV better on the 360 than the PS3?

Your either a hateful bastard or an 18 year old idiot ... maybe both

You are a crackhead. hunt. The PS2 had a lot more than a handful of great games. The wii would be fortunate to have half of the good games the PS2 had.

I think a lot of people are unrealistic when talking about game sytems. For some reason they act like they get a prize for being too one sided.

To say the ps2 had only a handful of great games is nuts. It was the definitive console last generation - it quite clearly had the best library. I liked my Xbox, but I loved my PS2 (and PS1 for that matter).

This generation I play my 360 more than my Wii & PS3. Why? The games this time around are better of the 360 right now. Anyone on the PS3 side who argues opposite is talking out of their ass and damn well knows it. There are simply more titles to choose from on the 360 right now. Its a fact. Accept it and live in the real world.

Eventually the PS3 will have a library like the PS2 did, and then the fanboys will have their room to cry foul anytime someone says there aren't enough PS3 games to justify buying one - until then you look damn silly to me spewing the anti Wii & MS hate.

Saying the PS3 has no good games is what's retarded ... I really don't like very many 360 exclusives so in your opinion I am talking out of my ass ... Thats just silly ... There are not any 360 exclusives that are anything like the top PS3 exclusives

@ John

"360 exclusives are not anything like the top ps3 exclusives" what does that mean?

I know you love your ps3, which I also own, but I must say I'm dissapointed in it as a gaming sytem. I don't hate the thing and it is my primary movie player but the games are nothing special.

Played HS, nice game, too short. Uncharted, blend of TR,POP, and GOW and not as good as any of them, also short. And RFOM is as average a shooter as I've ever played and that controller sucks for FPS. Are there any other major exclusives I'm missing? GT5P holds no interest for me, and I do love MLB 08.

By contrast I've played Mass Effect twice, GOW several times and still play the multiplayer well over a year later, Eternal Sonata was a great traditional RPG, Halo 3 is endlessly replayable, just started Dead Rising again. The point is that the exclusives on the 360 have held my interest far longer than the few hours I've gotten out of the PS3 exclusives.

So, that's where I'm at. I'll get the PS3 exclusives I'm interested in, next one probably MGS4 although I'm tempted to wait for the 360 version and then maybe LittleBigPlanet. Multiplatform is a no-brainer choice due to Live (the PSN network blows, sorry. I don't even play MLB online and I'm an online Baseball junkie).

For the record I own all three, never had the rrod, and have basically owned every console ever released over here (not the Jaguar though, thank God)

Well, it is pretty clear the Wii has the most junk.

But to be fair they have also had 2 problems in getting good reviews. (a) The launch titles were all trying to learn to use the new controller, so some of them didn't get it right.

But mostly (b) Game reviewers have no idea how to review Wii games. A lot of wii games got low AVERAGE scores, but their scores were really split! Games like SSX blur were getting really high scores from some reviewers, and really low scores from other reviewers. Some reviewers even gave games like RE4 bad reviews because they said the controls were terrible... while at the same time others said the controls were the best ever.

There simply is no consensus on Wii games between reviewers like there is for most other platforms. The only consensus is that there is a lot of junk...

You're right, take Secret Rings, i don't know what it's average was, but some sources put it up in the 80s, while others had it in the 30s

That's one hell of a desparity

Madden 07. 90%-50%
CoD 3 - 90%-30%
Boogie - 90%-10%
Battalion wars 2 - 90%-50%
SSX - 90%-30%
Wii sports - 90%-40%
Mercury Meltdown - 90%-30%
Big Brain academy - 90%-40%

Ok.. thats enough... i don't even HAVE a freakin Wii. Maybe it happens with other platforms too, but I don't think its so obvious. Almost every Wii game that has received a 90% from one site has a 50% or (much) less from another.

How ironic. Nintendo's 'iron-grip' was also the reason a lot left for the Playstation before... Now that they Nintendo relaxes their grip, everybody wants it back...

Damn if they do, damn if they don't.

Does anyone actually believe in the reviewers that give glowing reviews to any game with hype and a check from the developer to tell us the quality of games anymore?

People complain of the direction the Wii is taking the industry... I myself don't like the direction the other two are going.... More Expensive and relying on the ability to patch broken games... both are lose in my book.

I'm pretty much on the belief that no matter what Nintendo does, they'll be treated like third-rate. When it was about their Dream Team and limiting the number of games a developer made, they were fascists and dictators. So gamers said, "embrace everyone." They thought that meant undiscovered gems, possibly the next big thing. So Nintendo opened the flood gates. Little did we know that the big leagues not only wouldn't be giving much (if any) of their big hits, they were actually more inclined to give what they thought Nintendo systems amounted to - an afterthought. When the PS2 was the big seller, they were more inclined to treat it like the best thing ever, so they put both casual and hardcore titles. When the Wii was the big seller, they did what they always did, they dragged their feet. Their perception with regards to Nintendo was that of a throw-away. A side-line business if you will. Nothing major, just something that was there and if it died off it wasn't detrimental to their finances.

If Nintendo said they wanted to target the hardcore big time, these developers would be aimlessly wondering around bumping to each other with question mark hovering over their heads. If Nintendo said they were expanding to casual gaming, suddenly it's like a flood. These developers would simply be more willing to make games, casual games, because that's what their perception is to the Wii (or the last few Nintendo systems for that matter). Unless it's some cheap porting off of a PS2 game, the effort would be about as impressive as... well, as impressive as they are now (which is not).

Like Bertrand Russell said:

"If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence..."

So even if a Wii is equally if not more capable than the PS2, these developer can't seem to comprehend why a Wii can have game like MGS3 or FFX or Mercenaries. It's almost like fanboy mentality if you ask me because frankly, that's what naysayers against the Wii seem to do as well.

Wow,people dont seem to realize how biased game reviews are. I mean yea, Wii Has bad Games, Ninjabread man or whatever, Escape from Bug Island and Anubis 2 but otherwise The Wiis games aren't that bad. People are Biased against the Wii, though I have to admit, some wii games are just filler games until the good games come out but its an ingenious marketing strategy for the more diehard fans who will buy anything. thats working and besides it is even stated Nintendo is making alot of money.

Also Every system has its good Qualities so this whole Console war thing is just bs, seriously. Some, like myself prefer Nintendo, some prefer playstation, Some Prefer 360, Its all a matter of Preference.

The only thing we Nintendo Fans should be mad about was the fact that Rarewear sold itself or whatever, to Microsoft and they got banjo Kazzoie, thats it. Yes we are mad because it was our game first but this console war is just for the birds.

I'm a Wii owner who's been a gamer all of my life (my parents bought an NES in 1988 when I was 3). My stance is that I don't really care if a bunch of 3rd party developers want to make crappy games for the Wii, as an informed gamer, I know a crappy game when I see one, and I can read reviews or rent questionable games. If I'm buying a handful of games that I find to be really fun, what's the difference in how many crappy ones there are out there that I'm NOT buying.
