Activision, 7-Eleven to promote Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, quench thirst
While Activision's upcoming Aerosmith-centric flavor of Guitar Hero may still have some of us sitting on the fence, a new partnership between the publisher and 7-Eleven ensures that we can at least enjoy and icy cold Slurpee while considering rocking out to the "bad boys of Boston." Activision and the convenience store chain, along with Coca-Cola and Microsoft have teamed to promote Guitar Hero: Aerosmith by offering 22-ounce Slurpee cups branded in the series' artwork, though bizarrely the above art is not of the upcoming version at all.
Each the cups will include codes on the underside to enter an online contest to win the game, an Xbox 360, or Microsoft Points. According to an official announcement of the promotion, the parties plan on giving away 744 copies of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and 711,000 Microsoft Points throughout the month of May. In addition, 10 Slurpee drinkers will walk away with a shiny new console and a copy of the game, leaving us pondering the only other question worth asking: Wild Cherry or Classic Cola?

You spelled "quench" wrong.
MarkHawk @ May 5th 2008 9:50AM
You'd all hate me saying this but I'd love Pepsi Blue back.
While we are at it. I thought Pepsi Holiday Spice Mix and Summer Party Mix were really bad.
Limezor @ May 4th 2008 11:54AM
Damn I wish they would bring back the Vanilla Coke flavour.
Cesaria (MKW:2621-2994-1376) @ May 4th 2008 2:06PM
Vanilla Coke is back and has been back for awhile, my friend. It was a long and depressing wait, but its here.
Tiptup300 @ May 4th 2008 4:37PM
Actually, it never left. Depends where in the world you lived. They discontinue brands in the regions it doesn't sell well. I would happen to love to get Pepsi Lime back. So simple, yet so damn delicious.
LaughingTarget @ May 4th 2008 11:57AM
Wild Cherry, anyone who says otherwise is a terrorist/communist/flavor of the month villain.
NukeAssault @ May 4th 2008 2:39PM
I hate artificial cherry flavors.=P
NickDynmo @ May 4th 2008 12:18PM
Why did they write Judy Nails, but not Lars Umalot?
Gewurztraminer says: R.O.B. is the last Cylon! @ May 4th 2008 12:38PM
Why did they put them on there at all?
NickDynmo @ May 4th 2008 12:39PM
I miss Pandora and Eddie Knox :(
GibGirl @ May 4th 2008 1:05PM
I miss an art style that doesn't look like utter crap. I mean seriously, who green-lighted that garbage?
Jason @ May 4th 2008 12:55PM
At my location, the GH cups are in and the 'special' flavor appears to be Blackberry Tangerine Full Throttle slurpees.
Will try it and report back later. I will also report on my contest results

Does the guitar-hero playing demographic really align with the Aerosmith-listening demographic at all?
Sora267 @ May 4th 2008 4:17PM
If people who play Guitar Hero are rock music fans, and Aerosmith is a rock band, then all Guitar Hero fans must like Aerosmith, according to Activision's logic. So, yes, according to Activision, but no according to common sense.
Tiptup300 @ May 4th 2008 4:40PM
Ha, I had the best conversation with an Aersmith Fan:
"
Fan: Why do you play those stupid fake guitars when you could play a real one?
Me: Why do you kill hookers in gta, when you could kill hookers in real life?
Fan: ...
"

I just get every flavor that I like and put them all in a cup.
My sister loves GH & Slurpees so she'll freak out when she sees this. xD
Alex @ May 4th 2008 2:41PM
I love Slurrpies! I'm probably going to collect all those cups because GH is awesome even though I don't plan on buying Aerosmith.
HighFiveJesus @ May 4th 2008 2:42PM

Zero Punctuation Reference FTW
SoulBlade @ May 4th 2008 3:09PM
I'd rather have my gamer fuel code red baby!
Actually... I hate that stuff too. But MS and 7/11... a match made in heaven.
klitorisaurus @ May 4th 2008 3:20PM
I went there to pick some up today and the only GH cups they had were the paper ones, the plastics were still Iron Man. I'm hoping that they're just waiting for the Iron Man cups to run out before putting out GH. I'd love me some Holographic GH slurpie cups!
Penguin Warlord @ May 4th 2008 11:35PM
Does anyone else think that Guitar Hero is kind of... lame compared to Rock Band? I don't know maybe it's just me but I haven't played it once since I gto Rock Band. But then again I'm only a mere mortal who only plays on hard in GH3.
Dave @ May 5th 2008 11:11AM
I was thinking the other day that Rock Band is lame compared to Guitar Hero. From a guitar standpoint only. Rock band seems to be like... red and blue x20, yellow and blue x20, red, green and red x20.
Where as Guitar Hero you got those badass solos with the hammer ons and offs. I mean.... how awesome is City on Flames on Expert?
Ghoti @ May 5th 2008 10:07AM
Cool, won 400 Microsoft points!!! Thanks for the heads up on the contest!
Dave @ May 5th 2008 8:50PM
Anyone know what the point of the code on the bottom of the cup is for if you can just enter SLURPEE as a code everyday?
Evading Fate @ May 6th 2008 6:41AM
so i can just walk into 7/11 and look at the cups and write the codes down, go home and win crap? i dont even have to buy the cup...
